Good splat mat for under high chair
This is a good size mat to go under a large high chair for when baby throws her food. The back has a non-slip side. It washes and dries well. Just got it so not sure how long it will last but it is currently saving my carpet from a ton of stains!
Amazing for carpeted dining room
We’re in temporary accommodations with our 2 small children for 2 months while waiting for possession of our new home. The accommodation has a carpeted dining room (I’ve never understood this) so I instantly bought this & it has saved us from many stains! My daughter has spilled whole cups of juice and nothing went through at all. Once we get our new house I will keep this for future travel for sure.
Using for dwarf bunnies
Update: After a year and 3 months of scratching, gnawing, peeing, digging with claws…the mat is still going strong with a few small holes in the corners. Hose and scrubbed outdoors because I didn’t want to put it in washing machine with of hairs and pee; dries quickly in the sun. Hilarious that the bunnies refused to come out of their cage without the mat because they would slip on the floor…..PREVIOUSLY WROTE: “Bunnies kept chewing the foam mat, so I bought this to cover their play pen. Good size for two small bunnies. Durable as they dig and chew. Good traction. Perfect for pee, it just beads on the surface and we quickly wipe it up and use a tissue to pick up the poop. I haven’t washed it yet to know if it’s easy to wash or not. A little pricey but might be worthwhile if they dont chew through it. So far, good.”
Floor saver
This was a great product. It saved me from having to constantly mop our floors and itâs so durable. All you have to do is throw it into the washing machine at the end of the week and itâs good as new. Highly recommended.
Smaller than I expected
I used this to put under the puppy pee pads incase they miss the pad. It’s truly waterproof, which makes this worth the money. Easy to wipe clean. It’s just a little smaller than I expected. I imagine if it was used as intended and you put a baby high chair in the middle and the baby is the fussy type to throw food around they could easily throw it beyond the borders of this mat and you’ll be cleaning it off the floor still
Super!
We have been using this splat mat for over 7 months now. I canât imagine going without it, especially we are using the BLW approach to introduce solid to our baby girl. It not only saves the carpeted floor in our dining room, it is also super easy to clean. We simply wipe it after every meal and throw it into the washer once a couple of weeks. The food residues / color stains accumulated over a couple of weeks would just magically disappear after the wash. Love it!
Got this as an x pen liner and loving it
Got this to put under my 4 x 4 x pen for my bunny. This gives him 16 sq feet of the space. The liner being 51 x 51 fits perfectly. I wish it was a little softer on top but I guess the texture is alright. I haven’t washed it yet but I’m intrigued to see how it holds up. I think I might buy more of these to switch in between washes.

UPDATE BELOWYes, yes, yes! Gone are the days of getting on my hands and knees to wipe clean the floor after every meal. So hereâs the dealâmy 20-month old loves to throw his food, despite our best efforts to redirect and teach him not to. Itâs a phase thatâs lasted longer than we anticipated, and I was getting so tired of cleaning the floors multiple times a day. Prior to buying this splat mat, we used one of those disposable table clothsâthe kind with the waterproof plastic top and felt bottom. That works fairly well until it started ripping from getting caught in our sonâs Boon Flair highchair wheels. I initially thought $24 was a bit steep for a piece of fabric meant to catch food, but after using it for a couple of weeks, I can attest to it being worth every penny. I love how the bottom is grippy, allowing us to easily roll his highchair on and off the mat. The waterproof quality of the fabric is fantastic, and the arrows print against the grey background is lovely and neutral. It also doesnât stain and washes up nicely and easily in the washer. Though the directions say to hang dry, Iâve dried it in the dryer with no ill-effects. The only wish I have is that it be a tad wider because my sonâs arm is pretty good and food occasionally flies outside the width of the mat. Aside from that, this is a wonderful splat mat.Update August 2019:My son is now past the food-throwing phase as he is approaching 3 years old, but that doesnât mean this handy little splat mat is collecting dust. Weâve used this for Play-Doh, painting, and kinetic sand. Itâs fantastic for containing/catching messes! My once-grey mat is now covered in a rainbow of paint splatters from my little budding artistâs creations, but I kind of love it because it reminds me of all the fun heâs having being a toddler. If you get this mat for your new eater, definitely consider keeping it for the toddler years as it will continue to prove its worth.
LOVE having this! It is well made and adorable. I bought 2 (1 a different design) so I could bring one with me to friends houses. My 1 yr old is a messy eater and throws EVERYTHING when she is done eating. There are “slip free dots” on the bottom, like baby socks so they don’t slip. But nothing that makes it lay flat and stay flat on the floor. But I kind of like that about it. It is just like putting a picnic blanket down but smaller and way more manageable. After she eats I just scoop it up and shake everything off outside for the chickens and dogs. Makes it so I’m not mopping every day. Highly recommend it!
This was a great buy for our kitchen. I have twins and honestly got overwhelmed with how much food was ending up on our floor. These things are washable, food rolls right off the service, and they have good weight to them.
Covers the entire area under a highchair that my child can throw or drop food or dirty bowls/spoons. I just pick up all 4 corners of the mat into a sack and dump the crumbs into the trash and then toss in the wash. Makes it really easy to feed a messy toddler!
