Happy ending to my high chair research
Iâve done a thorough research before deciding which high chair to buy for my baby. The 3 best candidates in my opinion are Tripp Trapp, Keekaroo and Abiie. Tripp Trapp is a great high chair but the price is unnecessary expensive and these other two high chairs can absolutely substitute it. Keekaroo and Abiie are very similar. However the 3 big holes on the back of Keekaroo wonât suit my baby because she moves a lot when eating and likely will get her hands stuck there.Abiieâs features :Pros:- Pricing: Abiie and its accessories are affordable- Super quick adjustment of seat and foot-rest- Dishwasher-Safe Tray Cover: one hand removable tray. And the size fit perfectly in my dishwasher- Rubber-like Cushion: water-resistant and very easy to wipe and clean. Can be removed just by lifted- Can be used for a long time (weight limit 250lbs)Cons:- Wood finish is ok but not the best. Hopefully it wonât be damaged by long time exposing to water- 3 points harness lock needs to be correctly clicked together (in correct directions). So you will need to look at it when locking , not just by touching and feeling.Iâve tried the Ikea high chair and others but my baby was very uncomfortable using them because of lacking of adjustable footrest and the back rest is too far back. I recommend any moms/dads to buy Abiie. My baby stops trying to escape the high chair and always asks to sit on it even when not eating.
Love this high chair!
Great high chair! We have been using this high chair since November when our little one started solids. It’s wonderful. She sits very upright and the 5-point harness is secure and easy to use. The chair is very easy to wipe clean. I’ve only had to clean the black straps once and it was very simple to remove and wash in the sink and then dry them in the dish rack overnight. The chair looks great and has a minimalist design. It feels very durable and we hope to be able to use it for a second little one in the future and maybe even sell it after that. Love that it is made of sustainable wood and not plastic. Cheaper than the Stokke and it comes with the tray (don’t have to buy attachments). Really happy with this purchase. Highly recommend.
Awesome high chair
I did a lot of research before finally deciding to purchase this high chair. I wanted something solid, made out of natural materials, a 5-point harness, foot rest, and easy to clean. So far the Abiie has met all of those requirements. On top of that, it has a beautiful aesthetic and at a much more reasonable price point than the Tripp Trapp. I was happy I could order a high chair that already came with a comfortable seat and tray instead of having to add it on for yet more money. Very easy to get baby in and out. Other reviews mentioned that the tray is a bit small, and I was concerned about that. However our silicone sticky plates fit just fine on the tray, and so far I donât feel itâs too small. My only complaint is that one of the high chair legs was delivered with a scratch, but it is fairly minor.
Looks good but some cons
After a lot of research, I decided to go with the Abiie beyond high chair. Like others, I wanted something like the Stokke without the price point. The chair itself looks amazing and has a much smaller footprint than my ingenuity chair. The chair was relatively easy to assemble and blends in the rest of my furniture! My 6 month old seems to be sturdy in this chair and he seems to like the cushion as he does not fuss while staying in the chair during meal times. The removable tray is easy to clean and overall the chair itself is easy to clean after messes. There were some reviews about the wood warping – just be careful not to spill too much on the wood pieces and if they occur, just wipe it up promptly.I would have liked a bigger tray table given we are doing BLW and baby makes a huge mess! The straps on this chair are also really frustrating and it takes a while to fiddle with them in making them longer or shorter. The seats themselves are really easy to adjust from one level to another. The tray itself does require two hands and I found once you practiced at taking it out at the right angle, it does become easier! They also recommend sitting the baby at the first notch, but i personally found my baby was seated way too high so I moved the seat down (against safety regulation!)Overall, the high chair does the job! I just wish the tray was larger and the straps not as difficult to adjust.
Big improvement, HUGE.
Just got this chair and we used to have a plastic chair that strapped to a dining chair, with a fabric seat cushion, and it was a hellacious waking nightmare compared to this beauty. The seat cushion is able to be wiped clean, game changer. The chair and foot rest have multiple levels they can be installed at, blammo. It’s sturdy, and it actually looks good in our dining room, slammo. The tray comes on and off easily for me but not for the baby, yet another point for this chair. Is it a little pricier? Yeah. But it’s gonna be worth it, cause you’re gonna be spending 3 meals a day contending with a high chair, and you wanna make it a good one. Just do it, if you’re on the fence, just buy the chair y’all. Tripp trapp wishes it was this chair. You gotta buy a chair pad separately with that. Tripp trapp? More like Tripp trash.
Excellent & Easy to use
Just like the Stokke chair but easier to adjust ! Sturdy and great quality
Much better than a standard highchair
I used a standard (non-adjustable) highchair for my first child and hated the experience. It took two years before he was tall enough to be at the proper height. Now, this Abiie chair is making a world of a difference for my second child. It isn’t perfect by any means, but it’s well worth the price.Pros:- easy to assemble- adjustable seat and foot rest height- easy to clean- infant insert good for 6-month old.Cons:- tray table a bit small (good for little hands, but it may be problematic later on. )- depth of the seat does not appear to be adjustable (may lead to overextended knees.)
Great versatile chair!
We bought this for our 5 year old Autistic Granddaughter. She is able to easily get in and out by herself. The safety belt is so easy to use and the chair is so sturdy and well made! We are very pleased with the quality!
I cannot think of anything I did not like about this high chair. It looks beautiful, like furniture. It was easy to put together and easy to adjust to my granddaughterâs needs. She used it as a chair from ages 3-5, that fit under the table like any dining chair. Itâs super easy to keep clean and I love the snap on tray that goes to the sink for a thorough cleaning. Itâs now being passed down to my second granddaughter. It looks like new 9 years later! (I didnât realize I forgot to review this) You wonât be disappointed with this purchase. Itâs heirloom quality!!!
I have owned this high chair for 2 years now, and it is definitely a quality find! The straps will hold any sized baby or toddler securely to the high chair and they are easy to wash by hand if needed. The plastic tray can come off for easy cleaning by hand or in your dishwasher. The fact that the physical chair grows with your child is a selling point; the foot rests and bottom of the chair can be adjusted to fit while the baby grows taller. The design is aesthetically pleasing with the rest of our household furniture (we bought the blue with light wood color.) I definitely do not need to waste money buying a booster seat, because it can convert to a junior chair. Plus, many family and friends noted how this Abiie high chair is the same height as our dining room table. Other high chairs on the market may be taller than your high chair, which can be annoying if you are trying to handle your baby and eat a sit-down meal with the rest of your family at the same time. No awkward reaching for me! This one makes holding family meals a sinch! With that said, it is literally almost the perfect high chair. There is one spot that is super hard to clean–the crotch guard. It has curvy pockets for storing your little one’s crumbs, and there is a tiny crack between the chair and the crotch guard which will happily house even more crumbs. I have to either get a Q-tip to clean it up or unscrew the whole chair to make it perfectly clean (which I would not recommend doing all the time, because it can widen your fastener gaps and render your chair useless.)Also, after repeated use, there is now a crack in the plastic bracket on the sides that hold the tray in place. I blame myself for it, though, because I tend to put the tray in with one hand while holding my child. Maybe the engineers can find a way to design the tray slots so a busy parent can quickly install it one handed without breaking the product. Would a non-plastic solution be better? With that said, it is also a bit difficult to purchase replacement parts if needed. The plastic brackets that we need have been “sold out” on their manufacturing website for quite a while now. Hopefully they can make new parts soon. Otherwise, don’t be like me and not register this high chair–maybe registering it would have gotten us a smoother ticket to receiving the parts we needed to fix the chair.Overall, I would definitely recommend the Abiie High Chair to others–it’s not perfect, but the features it offers make it safe and practical to use. The neat freaks of the world may not like it as much, and you’ll need to treat the brackets with caution, but otherwise it’s one of the good high chairs.
I bought this for my niece and told my sister to give her honest review about the chair and this is what she said”If you’re struggling to choose the right high chair for your little one, let me help you settle the indecision. This chair is a great choice overall. It’s comfortable, easy to clean, and putting it together was quick and simple. It also has a clear plastic cover for the table, it’s easy to clean as well and it snaps in place. The footprint is small, and the height is very easily adjustable. I would say this gift is one of the more useful and sturdy ones we have received since getting our crib. 10/10 would recommend”
I absolutely love this high chair. I can’t stop saying it to my husband. I wish we got this it for our toddler sooner. It’s adjustable to your child’s height, a breeze to clean and just so much more comfortable than all the other high chairs I’ve seen, or the one my daughter previously had. This will grow with her for years to come. I can promise you, it is definitely worth the price tag. I regret waiting so long to buy it due to the price. It’s an investment for sure, but just seeing how much more comfortable my toddler is sitting it in makes it woth it.Pros: Easy to clean table, perfect height for a dining table, all aroundadjustable from 6 months old to however long this chair is standing, and comes in beautiful neutral colors that can match your house.
Started using this high chair recently for our child (<1 year old). Very durable and relatively easy to build - took about 20-30 mins from start to finish. Made of solid material - does not appear flimsy or cheap. We love how easy it is to clean; the plastic tray is a nice touch and easy to pick food off of. Love the ease of changing seat or leg support bars. Overall, very happy with this purchase.
