Gives Similar Results To My Other Meter, Has A Nice Rotating Colour Display.
We’re very happy with this finger pulse oximeter. It gives very similar results to our current meter with only 1-2 differences of numbers. I really like how when you press the power button, it rotates the display, which can be seen straight on vertically or pointing away from you for someone else to see, and left and right for different hands. Pressing and holding the power button also brings up the brightness setting. If you leave the device alone without a finger, it’ll turn off on its own.It comes in a nice box, though doesn’t include the 2 AAA batteries required to run it, even though the plastic tray insert has a space for them to be put in from the manufacturer. It has a nice felt bag and lanyard, but I personally would rather just put it back in the box for easy finding.Putting in the 2 AAA batteries is a bit of a pain to do, due to it having a locking mechanism to lock the battery compartment in. Once I put enough pressure on the lock button, it went down and unlocked.I think it is quite a nice device and recommend it.
Quick and accurate PO2 measurement
This oximeter compares well to our other hospital grade units. It takes AAA batteries which is great since you can always keep a set handy and not be caught flat out when on call if rechargeable batteries die. The display is sharp and clear, although I’d like the numbers to be larger especially for older folk.There’s plenty of room for bigger fingers.The oximeter ships with a lanyard and a storage bag to prevent scratches. An important tool for people with respiratory infections or lung function disorders caused by smoking, COPd and the like.You can set alarms for lo and hi readings to make it easy when testing multiple patients and people with rapidly changing O2 stats.An excellent price. Recommended!
Accurate as any
The accuracy of this pulse oximeter is pretty good. When tested against another oximeter the readings were the same.A few different options like display orientation and brightness can be set to your preference. The beep can be turned on or off but even when on it’s very hard to hear with no option to increase the volume.Warning thresholds can also be set to give a warning if the readings are outside a selected range.It is sensitive to finger placement and won’t give a reading if not on the sweet spot. Long finger nails may present a challenge getting the finger pad on the correct location but that’s true of all oximeters of this type.It comes with a lanyard and a little storage bag but no AAA batteries are included – two needed.
Provides repeatable results showing blood oxygen level
My wife and I are getting close to 60 years old so there are days when we’re not feeling as full of energy as we used to. We have been checking our blood pressure for a few years and comparing the average to when we’re not feeling as energetic to see if there is a connection. Now that we have this meter, we’ll also be able to check the oxygen level in our blood. The device is very easy to use and, so far, it seems to provide repeatable results. It seems to be a quality made unit.
I was hoping for more.
This does the job on a finger but I was hoping it would work on a toe, it doesn’t. Here’s my story. I have Type 2 diabetes and this summer I almost had to have my favourite toe amputated. I was on antibiotics for five months and so far I still have my toe. I thought this would be a good way to check the circulation in that toe. It works fine on my fingers but does nothing on my toes. I don’t know why. Anyway, if you need an oximeter, this is easy to use, easy to read and it feels sturdy. No complaints that way.
Simple to use but bring your own batteries
Super simple to use but make sure you pick up some AAA batteries as these are not included but required.Losing 1 star for not being rechargeable nor including batteries.Seems to be accurate enough for a consumer device.It comes with a storage bag and lanyard.
Great price for something so useful
I have a few other ways to test SpO2 so I’ve confirmed this is very accurate and in fact one of the easiest ways to get children especially to sit still and check oxygen saturation.Obviously, pulse helps as well but when the kids get really sick it’s good to know if their breathing is really becoming an issue or if they’re just fighting off a cough/cold and are working through it without reduced/restricted airflow.
