alvaalva

Our story began in 2010. We unexpectedly discovered a cloth diaper on the Internet by accident, and recognized how superior it was to disposable diapers. Raising a child is expensive enough, and disposable diapers are waste money. So, we came up with the idea to make baby cloth diapers, to help families financially as well as to be kind to our environment.

How did we get our start?

As time went on, cloth diapers became more and more popular. In addition to purchasing cloth diapers for their own babies, many people began purchasing our cloth diapers to use as baby shower gifts for their friends or relatives.

What makes our products unique?

Giving attention and building self-esteem is such an important part of a baby’s development. Here at ALVABABY, we truly care about our customers.

Why do we love what we do?

We love our customers and think of them as not just our customers, but also as our friends.

Reviews

  1. Nice narrow fit, perfect for newborns
These were the best fit for our newborn of any brand I tried and we sampled a lot. They are narrow between the legs which is great compared to a lot of other types. The microfiber inserts are ok, not the best. The only downside to these is the pocket is so narrow it’s hard to stuff with an insert but you can use tongs to stuff and it works well.Baby is almost 2 months and 11 lbs and is still able to fit them.

  2. Super cute
    A nice baby shower gift!

  3. Cute well made diapers but hard to put in inserts
Fit my 6lb 14oz newborn perfectly, she is 2 weeks old now and have been using these diapers regularly. They are pretty absorbent but do leak/ soak through a bit but so far they seem to hold poo in. The only down side is they are only open on one side to insert liners and are very narrow so they are difficult to get in properly

  4. Great purchase
Love Alvababy! Love the cute designs! I’ve used alvababy since my little one a newborn and it’s easy to tuck them so that his cord doesn’t get caught..I love that they are custom to his size. I wish they were a bit more wider for putting inserts in.. and the microfibre cloths that come with them do work for poop and light wetting.. otherwise I would recommend buying the charcoal bamboo inserts for better absorbency.

  5. Cheap price matching the fabric
Cheap price matches the fabric. Theyre cute tho

  6. Sizing-description issue
Very cute prints, seem of good quality, washed well. I wish I would of read the reviews. The description is very misleading. These diapers are tiny. I cant see them fitting a baby past 6 months. Very snug on my twins and I wish I would of just returned them. Picture included to show the size of the Alvababy versus another pocket diapers I have.

  7. Affordable. Adorable. Absorbent.
I accidentally bought these thinking they were One size but they were newborn 🤦‍♀️ so I am keeping them for the next baby. I love alva baby diapers. They fit nicely(when you dont buy newborn for a 35 lb baby 🤣), absorbent and adorable!

  8. Misleading title and description
In size it say all fit one. And in the wall of text later, it say for baby less than 12 pound. The product is good. The sesceiption is really confusing. This is for the firsts months of a baby. It is not a one fit all like others might be.

  9. Los botones q quedan abiertos le marcan sus piernas y el pliegue del pañal le marca sus ingles

  10. We’ve been using these and Bumgenius xs AIO cloth diaps for our daughter since her umbilical cord fell off at about 8 days old. She was 7lbs 12.9oz at birth and was 7lbs 3oz at her last check up at 8 days old and these fit great. We do snap the front down as they’re a bit too big at the full size but we have the waist snaps as loose as they can go so I’m hoping they’ll fit for at least another month.I was hesitant to invest in a bunch of newborn diapers but ended up buying 3 packs of 6 of the Alva baby newborn diapers for 18 total, plus 24 bumgenius xs aio diapers 2nd hand, 8 bumgenius xs bamboo fitted diapers and 2 covers also 2nd hand. That has been a decent amount of newborn diapers, we go through about 20 diapers a day and can stretch laundry 2 days. I’d recommend buying at least 36 if you want to be able to do laundry every other day but you could get by with 18-24 if you plan on washing every day. These Alva baby diapers actually hold liquid better than the bumgenius but I like the hook and loop closure on the bumgenius better since it makes it so fast to do diaper changes and I don’t have to stuff those. They’re easier for my husband and my MIL to change since they’re so similar to disposables. But I had to invest on boosters for the bumgenius diapers since they’re AIO’s and it’s not as easy to customize absorbency like it is with these. We’ve had multiple leaks with the bumgenius so I’ve had to wash her bassinet sheets a bunch of times and we haven’t had any leaks with these. I double stuff a few of the Alva baby diapers for night time and we just do one insert during the day. I’m not crazy about the microfiber inserts but they work for the newborn stage; we’ll probably need to get bamboo inserts for when we move on to one size diapers since the microfiber isn’t the best. These are a great deal and I think we’ll actually save money on diapers even in the newborn stage. By the time we’d started using cloth at 8 days old we had gone through 5 small packs of Pampers newborn diapers which are super expensive, I think we honestly would have paid more on disposables if we’d used newborn and size ones instead of these and other 2nd hand cloth diapers.I’ve already bought a huge stash of bumgenius AIO one size diapers but if I didn’t have those I would have bought Alva baby one size for when she’s bigger. If you’re looking to do cloth in the newborn stage these are a good option and not very expensive! With diapers from the hospital and diaper samples sent in baby sample boxes we only had to buy a few packages to get her through the stage with her umbilical cord but you could also probably just fold the front of the diaper down!

  11. I’m a FTM who stocked up on the regular size cloth diapers before baby was born. Had a feeling they’d be too big for my newborn and I was right! Little one is 2 weeks old and around 7-8lbs but very petite and long. I’m so glad I bought a few packs of these! I can’t imagine trying to fit her in the bigger cloth diapers at this size! They absorb very well I only use one insert per diaper and they keep her very comfy. We did use disposables while waiting for her umbilical cord to fall off and unfortunately they gave her a rash, since switching back to her cloth diapers she’s been healing nicely and much more comfy/ less fussy

  12. Just for referemce my baby was born at 6.8 lbs, is two months and is now 15.2 lbs and still wears these. He is on the very last snap and probably only has by the end of this week before he outgrows them. They has work extremely well. I always put i liner on the inside of the pocket and then add additional liners on the outside of the pocket. Using the alva baby newborn liners, He started out with a microfiber insert on the inside of the pocket and then the alva baby 4 layer bamboo/microfiber on the outside of the pocket. (Do not put microfiber on baby skin, it can be way to drying and cause diaper rash). After that I’ve gradually been adding the all bamboo alva baby liners they are thinner than the bamboo/microfiber and the microfiber. He now wears the previous setup with an all bamboo liner added in. So to break it down,•newborn diaper with microfiber insert in pocket•bamboo/microfiber insert outside pocket•1 to 2 all bamboo liners on top. With the current set up at his poundage (15lbs) the newborn diapers usually change every hour and a half to two hours, it really just depends on his eating habits and how much I feel him farting. So far they have worked really well but at around 13 pounds I started putting him in the one size at night and when we go out so I don’t have to change him in the trunk of my car or a public restroom. Also allows me to not have as much baby laundry. The one size lined with 2 microfiber liners inserted into the pocket and a 5 layer charcoal/bamboo on top will last for about five or six hours and 8 hours if necessary (like when he decides to sleep through the night every once in a while)At his current size i have found that using the two different sizes has been a nice mix:NB during the day and OS at night/outings.Only thing I will say is that I feel like the elastic stretches out a bit too easily. I notice there are still gaps on some of his diapers around the legs and have been since about 9 pounds. He is now 15 pounds and there are still gaps on some of them. He is 15 pounds. They should fit pretty snug and I notice some fit kind of loosely, which has caused a couple leaks here and there. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Idk.All in all they are really great and I would highly recommend them, however, this is also coming from someone who has not tried any other brand and is happy enough that I probably will not either. BUY THEM!

  13. We are still trying these. Baby is 3 weeks old and seems happier wearing this when she sometimes seems uncomfortable wearing a regular diaper. Trying them because of it being more gentle to the skin and less chemicals. So the pads are very absorbent. Still trying to make sure we get a tight leak resistant seal around the legs. Use a cooking tongs to load the pad is super easy!
