Great idea, but not when implemented
I was so excited to try these as I had 4 kids with high fevers last week. I plopped a sticker on each child’s forehead and also tested occasionally with my thermometer to see the accuracy of the readings. For the most part the temperatures from the thermometer, measured orally, were similar to the stickers (the reason my rating is not a 1 star). I was hoping that during the night I would just be able to flash a low light on their foreheads and get a reading and then know if they needed a dose of Tylenol or a tepid back, etc. But, here’s the thing, 2 of my children were sweating badly from the fevers they had, and they sweat the stickers right off their foreheads in less than 10 hours. The other issue is, despite my initial “don’t take the sticker off” chat with my children it didn’t take long for my 5 year old to rip her sisters sticker off her forehead. Honestly, I went through all the stickers in a short time, and in the end I concluded that waking my kids up and using the thermometer orally is a lot less work. I would say that maybe for a child with a very low grade fever this might be an ok tool. So long as they have good impulse control and won’t rip it off. And as long as they aren’t so young they will stick it in their mouth after ripping it off, risking choking.
