Reviews

  1. A pretty good set to learn shapes, colours and emotions!
Like all B. Toys products, imo, this one is constructed with quality materials and a thoughtful design. The colours are bright and pretty to look at and play with. The plastic shape covers are made of durable plastic and the big size is ideal to emphasize the shape. The thing I like most about these shapes is that they can serve a variety of functions (think moulds for sand, play dough or baking). The only drawback of this set (and the reason for the 4 stars), is the fact that it is missing basic emotions like “sad” and “surprised” (this one should have been included instead of shocked). Not too big a deal, because we will be using additional resources to teach emotions. At the time of purchase, this was about $8.50 (with prime registry discount), and well worth it. Great for gifting and despite the lack of some important emotions, I would definitely recommend!

  2. I got this for my 2-year old to use with his speech therapist. The shapes are cute. You can layer them to make different colors which is cool but I don’t like the emotions. They are too similar. Happy, proud, pleased. Confused, worried. I call happy—> silly, pleased—>sleepy, proud—>happy. I wanted simple facial expressions but got more complicated ones I guess.

  3. I use this puzzle working in early intervention (birth – 6-years). It is a great first puzzle! Non-interlocking pieces fit easily into the holes. The shapes are light plastic and easy for small hands to manipulate. So much learning possible: shapes, colors, emotions. The plastic pieces are see-through and the kids enjoy looking through them to see the world in a different way. One of my best educational purchases, for sure!

  4. I’m an occupational therapist. The occupational therapists and physical therapists at my school use this puzzle to work on kids goals in different ways. It’s appealing and fun looking

  5. My puzzle loving toddler loves this. Pieces are easy to grip and we have used it to teach emotions, colors, and shapes!

  6. Cute puzzle. Pretty well made. Some of the paint was chipped off when received. Love the uniqueness of the puzzle pieces being transparent and colored.I like this puzzle because you can practice matching the colors, the shapes, and teach emotions. The naming of the emotions is a bit odd, specifically that there is no sad, and instead, you get worried and confused which have different meanings but to a two year old, the faces shown both appear to just be sad.
