Exactly what I needed
I had a duck with a sticker that was supposed to change color when the water gets to hot but I was never sure I was reading it correctly. When it comes to my newborn I obviously want to be careful with the temperature of his bath water. This duck is very accurate and lights up blue when the water is cold, red when too hot and green when it’s perfect. Makes it very easy and gives me the confidence I was looking for

I have reviewed this in the past. And I still love this helpful wee duck. But just a note to those who buy it. Make sure you take it out of the water as soon as the bath is done or even mid way through the bath because when left in the water (as we often accidentally do) the temperature gauge is still on doing its job and its drains the two little round batteries it has (which are not cheap). Other than that. I love this little duck. It makes a relief to know our precious babe is in safe hands, and its not such a guessing game with temperatures. Even too cool isn’t good because they can get chilled. Worth the buy. 🙂 ps my husband loves hot baths and has a hard time determining what is an appropriate temp. for our little one, hence “Glow Duckie” as we call it.
Caution
The color coding of water temperature is nice. I do have some issue with the delay and accuracy of the reading. At times it can take 10 to 30 seconds to register the temperature. I donât have an independent thermometer to see how accurate the reading is. Just that the water feels warmer than the reading, my daughter prefers temperatures below 36 C as she thinks thatâs too hot.So be cautious about waiting for the thermometer to have time to level out. And stay away from the hotter end of the green range as itâs likely too warm for kids.
Maybe a good product if it worked…
The thermometer arrived, I unpacked it and put it aside for when I needed to bathe my baby. Time came, thermometer wouldn’t turn on. Batteries were dead. Ordered batteries, it worked…. 2 times. Now it won’t turn on again.It is hard to program and takes at least 45 seconds holding the button to turn it off.Temperature displayed nicely when it did work but overall, waste of money. I would return it but I threw out the box before I had tried it. Would not recommend based off my experience.

Light not working after 3 baths
It is easy to read the temperature but the light stopped working after 3 baths. The duck shuts itself up by itself. Batteries have been changed but that is not the problem.

I like that itâs easy to use and the accuracy is great sometimes it can be hard to read but only when the batteries are dying. I donât know what brand of LR44 batteries they used but any ones that I have put in give me a hard time. It will be on the bump the tub and restart almost like the batteries are moving. Or sometimes after changing the batteries it just wonât turn on. Other then that it works great.
Worked well for the first month
Bought early February, started having issues in March, and 2 weeks ago it died entirely. It was great for the first monthâ¦

I love how it automatically turns on when you put it in water, automatically turns itself off after only a minute of being taken out of the water, and I love how it shows you the actual temperature of the water itself! The colors (blue for too cold, green for good, and red for too hot) are nice for simplicity sake. But I really like knowing what the actual temperature is.
Great product
We loved the concept of this duck thermometer for my babyâs bath. it seems to be pretty accurate as far as temp reading. The reason i gave this a 4 stars is because itâs extremely difficult to turn off and switch through the different modes it offers. Iâm not sure if I have a defective one, but Iâve read through the directions 10 times and hold the mode button for the 5 seconds it says to, and it just doesnât turn off…so needless to say Iâm assuming the battery will die shortly or stop giving me accurate temp readings before that happens. Other then that, itâs a great little bath thermometer.
