Don’t bother trying to use the instructions. They weren’t really instructing. Just watch the video or YouTube it. It’s pretty straight forward though. This feature is not apparent from the item description but I was pleasantly surprised that by pushing the blue buttons at the top the mesh wall can slide down allowing you to get in and out of the bed. In order to anchor the metal latch to the opposite side of a platform bed you would need to drill one small hole, or have your own screw driver and very good grip strength. Otherwise, assembly is very easy. If co-sleeping with a small baby I would stuff a pool noodle between the mattress and the guard rail to fill any gap. The height adjustable rail is great for my 12″ mattress. Edit: I find I can still easily put on and take off a fitted sheet with this guard rail installed.

Needs assembly/instructions are useless
I didn’t realize that I would have to assemble this item. The assembly instructions enclosed are useless. Also, it wasn’t made clear that I would have to attach the straps to my bed using screws, which will deface the bed. I hope I can do a work-around.The video on the Amazon site helps a bit, but still doesn’t show how to attach the straps at the other side of the bed.

I bought these bed rails on a recommendation from a friend. They are perfect for what we needed. Toddler wasn’t liking cot, moved to bed.We nailed them to the bed, so i would recommend that,Follow the video for set up, it’s was quite straight forward, just need to have space around you.The quality is good, but it was the length and height is why I bought them.As we put our baby into a single bed.
