Perfect Teether
I noticed my 7-month-old likes to gnaw on things that aren’t just plastic/silicone. He loves a variety of textures found on things around the house (like kitchen utensils), so I’ve been on a mission to gather baby-safe toys that are made from everyday materials like wood and metal. This teether was perfect for my purposes. I also got him the wooden circle with a bit of cloth attached to it, but he completely ignores that one and always reaches for this instead. I believe the fact that this doubles as a rattle is probably what makes it so much more attractive to him. He can shake it around to hear the pleasant rattle noise, gnaw on the different textures of the round ends or the rings, and also work on his pincer grasp since it’s not too chunky. I often use a silicone pacifier clip to attach this to his stroller when we’re out for walks.Notable features:- The wood is smooth, so I’m not worried about any jagged edges or splinters, and there’s no sealant or toxic outer layer, it’s pure wood.- The balls on the ends are very securely attached and I don’t feel like they would come off, even if a grown adult tried to pry them off. They’re also big enough that he won’t gag on this toy if he tries to shove it in his mouth.- I was also pleasantly surprised to realize that this little toy is also very aesthetic with its pale wood tone, and I find I always leave it out as part of his toy rotation because I like the way it looks.
