I recommend, great purchase!
Perfect for a kid. My 5 year old eats well. The picture is for school lunch. This is the second I’ve purchased (1st being fancy outercase- used for two months no issues) this to my surprise can work in the case or as a stand alone with the clear lid.Some reviewers say it doesn’t fit- it fits fresh food cut up, the largest compartment fits a bagel cut in half or a sandwich cut in four with a little room left for some snap peas. In the pic- which I counted for you contains- 4 nuggets cut in half,2 LARGE strawberries cut up, about an inch of cucumber, 9 snap peas, 16 blueberries, 8 large black berries. I could’ve stuffed a little more in here but it doesn’t usually come back empty. Everything fresh will fit, if you add granola bars etc they don’t need to go in the container- just the lunch bag. The compartments don’t leak into each other. Sometimes I put yogurt or dipping sauce, vitamin gummies or some skittles in the middle. Love the options.

Not leak-proof
These are great if you already have the outer shell. I do not recommend using these on their own with the lid provided — they leak and will crack if dropped.

Not worth it
The bottom is open so this is hard to clean. The portion holes are also small which is is great size for portions for a small kiddo, but too small for meals, and also hard to get into clean.

Disappointed with the plastic
Have to hand wash because the plastic is already pretty brittle. I have had three crack one the hinges broke while hand washing. Two fell on kitchen floor and tray broke in the weirdest way. Customer service is ok but shamed me about how I need to be careful with their product. The problem is it’s marketed for kids and if it cannot fall on the floor empty without breaking then it’s not sturdy enough for kids. It works amazing for portions and food groups but they just don’t seem to last more than a year. Even with hand washing.

I originally bought four of these for my 6 and 8 year old’s school lunch. I used one for their current day’s lunch, and I used the other two to prep their lunch for the next day. But my 2 and 4 year old started wanting to use them too while eating lunch at home, so now I use one for each kid ages 2, 4, 6, and 8. Even though there’s really only four compartments and a sauce compartment, I am able to add more than one item to each compartment when needed and it works out great. I love that I can prep the day before, even for my two kids that eat lunch at home, and makes it easier on my day. I also found that when they eat from these, they tend to eat everything or most of everything, versus eating from zip lock bags or a regular plate. I plan on buying more of these!CONS: If I snap all the snaps closed, my kids have difficulty opening them, specifially on the long sides. So when sending to school, I only snap the two short sides closed. The container stays closed but those two clips seem looser than the rest, which would cause some leakage without clipping them all closed.

Love this as a preschool lunch container. Almost fits a whole 6inch roll squished down a smidge (I cut off an inch or two in length) and then has extra compartments for dip/sides. I’m not super creative but this helps me to throw together a low effort lunch that looks like I might know what I’m doing! I put ranch dressing in the middle and it hasn’t leaked. I wouldn’t put soup or something liquid inside, but overall it doesn’t leak. They do sell a more expensive outer piece to make this more leakproof, but it’s really not necessary in my opinion! I’m sure if it was dropped at just the right angle, it might break but we haven’t had any problems with general wear and tear over 3 months of use. I hand wash it between uses and run it through the top rack of the dishwasher periodically without issues, even with heated dry. Depending what is packed for lunch, I’m guessing we’ll probably start outgrowing this container by 2nd grade, give or take a year, but it’s perfect for right now…especially for ten bucks!

I love these boxes for our kids (age 4/7). The compartments are small, but deep, so they surpringly fit more than I expected. The circle compartment is perfect for yogurt/applesauce, or small treats like nuts, cereal, etc. A usual lunch for us includes: an uncrustable style sandwich, cut in half, string cheese, a fruit bar, fruit, and a cut up protein or granola bar. All of this fits easily!
