We gave up paper towels long ago in support of more sustainable options like swedish dishtowels and reusable rags. I see these another great cleaning tool (but not a replacement for swedish dishtowels or rags). They’re the absolute best for dusting gross places! They’re small but mighty â I especially love them for dusting the bathroom (where it’s less hygienic to reuse cloths). They smell great and I love that they’re fully compostable. My only complaint is I don’t think the plastic container is necessary. I’d prefer to just pull them from the package they come in. Don’t need more one-time use plastic in the house.
For a long time, I’ve been trying to replace paper towels in my kitchen. In the past few years, I’ve used Swedish dish cloths, but they got to a point that it was time to throw them out. I’d always gotten a bunch of ads about Biom so I figured I’d give it a shot.The wipes themselves are small, thin sheets that feel like a damp paper towel. They’re ideal for cleaning up countertops and our kitchen table. We don’t have a huge kitchen in our apartment, so one sheet is usually enough. For particularly tough spots that a towel can’t wipe away, I just use the rough side of the sponge and finish with the towel. Then the space looks pretty much perfect.One of the things I like most is the modern design of the container they come in. It doesn’t look like the other ugly cleaning products I have to hide away. Plus, one of the biggest gripes I had with my Swedish dish cloths is that I can’t use them on particularly grody parts of my kitchen and not feel weird about having to sanitize them before using them again.I also live in California and composting is pretty easy here, so we just throw them into our compost bin. It’s pretty guilt-free. Ideally, we’ll use a combination of Biom and Swedish dish cloths for maximum sustainable cleaning–but I feel good about my decision to use Biom only in the meantime.
Iâm absolutely loving these wipes! The 50-count pack is perfect for keeping my house stocked without constantly needing to buy new disposable wipes. The citrus zest scent is such a nice touchâit’s like a little burst of freshness every time I wipe down the kitchen or bathroom. Theyâre gentle enough for skin but still tough on dirt, grease, and grime.
Iâve been using the starter kit and love it for its design AND functionality! The container is actually nice enough that you dint mind leaving it out on the counter. I find myself grabbing for the wipes often to wipe down the kitchen counters, light switches, and even use to clean bathroom surfaces. Plus, the wipes are eco-friendly, which is one of the main reasons I bought Biom!
