ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Our Calming Massage Oil is perfect for a gentle massage before bedtime to help unwind and ensure a good night’s sleep. French lavender and clary sage essential oils bring an intoxicating and calming, but never overpowering scent.
Our vegan oil blend is made with certified organic canola oil, safflower oil, and evening primrose. These organic ingredients are very gentle on sensitive, allergy-prone skin and eczema. The oil is non-greasy, absorbs quickly, and leaves skin satiny smooth, and smelling sweet. Our scents are made from 100% pure essential oils and zero of the unknown and unlisted chemicals that come with synthetic fragrance.
This cruelty-free product is allergy tested and does not contain: gluten, soy, oats, dairy, or nuts (except coconut)
Free of: mineral oils, petroleum-based ingredients, and synthetic fragrance.
All products are blended, manufactured & packaged at California Baby’s headquarters located in Los Angeles, California, USA. Their manufacturing facility is FDA registered, certified organic, and solar powered. California Baby is proudly woman owned and family owned & operated since 1995.

The quality control testing we do goes far above the industry norm. Every ingredient is tested when it arrives at our Los Angeles facility to ensure it meets our strict quality specifications for purity and efficacy.
Our ingredients are sourced from American and European suppliers that have been meticulously vetted for purity and safety. If a supplier cannot meet our strict ingredient standards, we often grow the ingredient ourselves. For example, in 2011 when superior quality, organic Calendula flowers became hard to source, we purchased an organic farm and now we grow 100% of our Calendula there.

Our 100-acre, certified organic farm in Santa Barbara, California grows some of the key ingredients we use in our beloved products.
Growing these flowers under our watchful eye is just part of the rigorous program of quality control we implement across all of our operations and one big reason we’ve been trusted to keep babies and families safe for more than 20 years.

We keep a vigilant eye on every ingredient that goes into our products as well as every step of the manufacturing process to ensure that our purity and quality always meets or exceeds the highest standards in the world.
To control the quality of our products, we built our own FDA registered and certified organic manufacturing facility. This facility, located in Los Angeles, California, gets up to 80% of its energy from solar power.

What began as one new mom’s quest for a safe baby shampoo has grown into a beloved collection of more than 90 pediatrician and dermatologist-recommended hair and skin care products for babies, kids and adults with sensitive skin. Jessica Iclisoy is working to make impact beyond just her own company. She has launched a non-profit, Natural Advisory Council, dedicated to advocating for consumer protection legislation for natural products.
California Baby, established in 1995, is Certified Women Owned and is 100% family owned and operated.

We’re obsessed with purity and sustainability in every part of our process, from ingredient selection to manufacturing to packaging and beyond.
Our testing standards are what’s called “best in class,” meeting or exceeding the highest standards in the world, so you can be sure you are bringing home the cream of the crop.
The result is calmer, happier babies with soft, radiant skin and moms and dads who can rest easier knowing that they haven’t brought another unsustainable, toxic product into the house.

Good
This oil is light yet effective at moisturizing our baby’s somewhat sensitive skin. We went to this oil after we found that regular baby oil was causing our newborn to break out. We now use it every night for a massage after her bath at night. The scent is light enough to avoid being overwhelming but strong enough so that I truly believe it helps to relax her for long sleeps at night. The natural ingredients are nice too because our baby is constantly sticking her hands and fingers in her mouth now, including during and after her massage. I don’t get worried if she has little bit of this left on her hands after the massage. Like others have said, the price is a little high – but the value matches the price. Also, you don’t really use all that much on a baby. We use one 4.5 oz bottle about every two months. A tip for making it last longer: warm it up in a bottle warmer before the massage. Not only does it make for a warmer for the massage, but it thins it out so that you end up using less
.I’m not sure why this is listed as Apricot & Sesame. On the label sesame and apricot are not on the ingredients list and the oil has a strong lavender and rosemary herb smell to it. If you use the California Baby-calming bath wash it is the same scent. It is a strong smell, I happen to like it and my baby who has sensitive skin is not bothered by it. I use it every night with her before bed when I massage her. It is expensive and the smell may be too strong for some. I would recommend smelling the bath wash often sold in stores to make sure you like the scent before you make this purchase.
I was expecting an apricot scent… but I should have read the description more carefully. There is a strong lavender aroma, which is not a bad thing.
Calendula oil is a wonderful thing. We used California Baby products with our first son when he was an infant 4 years ago but did not know about the massage oil product they have. We have been doing a lot of baby massage with our newborn and he is all smiles. A tad pricey but a little goes a long way.
