Great Food Processor
Our Moullinex food processor that we received as a wedding gift 45 years ago, finally stopped working so we replaced it with this Cuisinart. It is so much more powerful than our old one, canât believe I worked with the old one as long as I did. It served us well, but weâre thrilled with this one. Itâs fast and grates, blends and slices to perfection!
Great machine but accessory caddy is a waste of space
Just got this yesterday and didn’t have the chance yet to put it through the ringer. I got it to upgrade my old, cheap and basic Hamilton Beach food processor that has served me well for the last 8 years but is now on it’s last leg and ready to go any minute now.First impressions are good. Quiet and powerful. Lighter than expected. Easy to clean. Feeding tube is spacious in comparison to the size of the bowl. Don’t expect to put a whole apple through though, but I don’t think any processor can actually do that. The blade is easy to remove once you’re done thanks to an indentation on the top of it that you can easily grasp, which was an issue with my old HB.As for the size of the bowl, yes you can basically only put 9 cups into it but since I knew that when I ordered it, it is not an issue for me. Even 9 cups is still a good bowl size unless you’re planning on making huge batches of whatever you’re making. I find it sufficient.First time I used it I had some trouble not pureeing vegetables that I was trying to chop but looks like I just put too much in at once, if you want to chop things, they need space to actually move around. Looks like it will do a good job for making hummus and stuff. Will update my review as I use it more. The only thing that bothers me is the accessory caddy. I initially thought it would be a good idea to have a closed up container that can hold the blades and slicing disks but this thing is bigger than the actual machine and takes up more space. I got myself a small container from the dollar store for my accessories that takes about a quarter of the space in my pantry and still holds all the accessories. This caddy is so much unrecycable plastic that could have been saved. Stupid design.
Food Processor
Very pleased, the price couldnât be beat, itâs very functional and the quality out shines others at twice the price.
Made life 200% easier
Easy to clean and doesnât take up much space. This is my first processor and I LOVE IT. So easy to use and store.
Lid Broke on First Use – Customer Service No Response
Had 2 Cuisinart processors for many years prior so thought this meant quality. Bought the 11 cup model and the first time I used it, I had trouble rotating the lid which needs to be in a very specific place to trigger the switch. A plastic tab broke off the lid which helps keep the lid pushed down. A few usages later same thing happened and second tab broke off. Now I am required to hold the lid down the entire time to trigger the switch. I have gone on their (Canadian) website and filled out a warranty claim. No confirmation email or message they got it, no response back. Their hours are only limited for the customer service phone number – I waited on hold for a long time, then got a call back hours the next day when I was unable to deal with the call. The unit seems to work fine. I like that the bowl is now sealed (older models were not) so you can use more liquid ingrediants. I don’t like that the OFF button looks the same as the other buttons and is in the middle.I will be making another attempt at reaching customer service. Hoping the replacement lid doesn’t have the same issue
Why did I wait so long?
Bought this to replace my mini kitchen aid which did not so much die as fall apart. The Cuisinart is terrific. I love it, and got it at a good price. The only criticism I have so far is that the blade for fine grating could be even finer. Apart from that, this machine earns every inch it takes up on my counter. A great investment.
