Tidy, attractive, subtle, useful, sturdy gate
I love our new gate. I mounted it across the kitchen doorway to keep my wet dogs in the kitchen until they dry off. It’s been an excellent choice and looks great. I have 2 well-behaved German Shepherds and I think if they wanted to, they could probably push under it, so keep that in mind when you mount it, how high off the floor you want it, depending on your dogs. The mesh is quite opaque, which is nice.
Strong well built
We needed this for our small dog. The gate has a very strong retract spring on the gate itself so make sure you have a good hold. The wsll mounts were easy to install with a bit of skill. Take your time read the instructions twice measure twice and screw once. Once up it is very solid. We have accross a stairwell and while it works for us there looks to be a possibility of the material deflecting enough that a small child might be able to push against it and slip through the bottom so for me i might not use it for a child on a stairwell. Flat surface should fine. Overall a nice product and the two pack gives us one we can use in trailer or second location. Definitely recommended
Good, but…
We got this to baby proof our stairs now that our 1 year old has decided almost overnight that she can now crawl. I think this gate represents the tradeoffs between different types. Traditional gates might be stronger but they also have a trip bar that is a safety concern when coming from the top of the stairs and carrying a baby or laundry. This gate strikes a nice middle ground between safety and accessibility since you can fold it up when not needed.So far it’s held up to baby’s exploration and is functioning smoothly though time will tell as our baby starts walking and gets stronger and bigger.Some notes and why I’m only giving it 4 stars however. First, the instructions to install the gate generally are logical. In practice though it’s a bit more complex. When sticking the brackets to the wall with the adhesive to mark and drill holes, I found that when I pulled the little lever to lift off the gate, not only did the brackets come off the wall, they took some paint with them. So it can be hit or miss on extra damage to your walls. I had to manually position and measure the holes to drill after. One helpful thing is that the bottom bracket slides up in case you’ve got a thicker baseboard to deal with.Second, the drywall anchors provided are just bad. Even after drilling pilot holes I ended up breaking multiple anchors trying to get them in. So my advice is to skip the anchors entirely and locate the wall studs nearest where you want to set up the gate, and then drill the screws right into the wall stud. My house is older and the builder did some shenanigans with the wall studs by our stairs so it was a bit harder for me to find them using the stud finder, but once I got them located and made the holes the gate went up fast and was very secure. Using your wall studs will keep the gate more secure and save you hassle. I wish the instructions had just stated to find and use the wall stud instead.
Perfect Retractable Gate: Easy to Install and a Great Solution for Pet Control
I really like this Retractable Gate. I often need to keep my dog in the laundry room area, and before I found this gate, I was using his playpen fence to block off the space. However, since I couldnât secure the fence to the wall, I had to use chairs to block each endâneedless to say, it was quite the mess.I was really happy to find this gate. It comes in different lengths, and I was able to get the perfect size for my space. It was easy to install and works great. If you’re in a similar situation as I was, I highly recommend getting one for yourself!

Best baby gate!
We bought the biggest baby gate we could find so it would stretch across our huge staircase without having to do 2 & screw into our railing post.Surprisingly for the price this baby gate is awesome, good quality, tall enough, super easy to open but yet holds tension really well.The design is super sleek and you barely notice it.Has a decent weight to install it but once installed itâs great. If it was light weight Iâd be concerned with quality.This gate is awesome!!! Will be buying a second one in definitely!!

Horrible installation
The gate has horrible installation instructions. The hooks only work 1 way (not the way the nails are said to go in) the other way slips off. I had to tear it out and do it again which made more holes in my wall. Also does not work with walls that have a baseboard.
I bought this item because I had an issue with my dog in the mail. Letâs just say they stopped for my mail for a little while until II bought this item because I had an issue with my dog in the mail. Letâs just say they stopped delivering my mail for a little while until I got this gate. Now I donât have to worry if I open the door and the mail person is in the hallway, my dog cannot get out! Insulating it was very easy and it functions great. I like the lock feature so my daughter cannot open it. It looks nice and my pet is protected from running out.
This was extremely easy to assemble, took less than 5 minutes once the adhesive cured for a few days. I installed it with no screws on my stairsâ metal railing and the wall. The adjustable height pieces for installing made it very easy to fit. Itâs been up for two weeks now and seems like it has outsmarted the baby for now! I donât think it looks like it would be totally baby proof because the fabric still has a little give even while it is locked , but honestly itâs working so I canât complain. The locking mechanism gets a little stuck sometimes but itâs nothing a little pulling and swearing hasnât fixed.
I use these at deck entrances. Keeps the pets where I want them. The fact that iy retracts out of the way. And then also has thr ability to lock across to keep Littles where they need to be.Would recommend these is all kids of situations. Easy to install and use. One of my favorite buys. Could even use in a camper for pets.
UPDATE: had it about 2 months and one of the sticky mounts came off. It has paint pieces from the door frame stuck to it so it canât be reused. Hoping the seller will replace it. We still like it a lot, but thatâs a bummer.So far so good! Had it like a week. Easy to put up and very sturdy. Has kept our 70lb. dog out of the kitchen. Very easy to open and close even with one hand.
We got this baby gate because it does not require drilling into the wall, is securely fastened to the walls, and is easy to open and close. We had an issue with two of the hooks because the hole for the screw was too shallow so the screw would not screw in, causing the hook to be loose and unusable. Customer service was pretty responsive and despite an initial hiccup with the shipping, they sent over new parts that worked well.
