I needed to test an older fridge in the place I bought to see how soon I might need to replace it but all cheaper hardware store, kitchen supply stores thermometers are junk, this was precalibrated and has a bottled probe so the temp doesn’t plunge when you open the door to check the temp. The fridge is just fine for now, the thermometer was worth every penny.
