The Door Monkey works with standard 1-⅜” thick interior doors and standard rectangular door stop moulding. It does not fit some nonstandard doors and & door frames. Please review the image of the installation requirements at the top of the page before ordering. Applications with nonstandard door stop molding may require the optional catch (sold separately).

NO TOOLS OR TAPE REQUIRED: Our unique design allows the Door Monkey to be installed in seconds without the need for tools, tape or hardware. No tape means no damage to your door’s finish.
NO ACCIDENTAL LOCK-INS: The Door Monkey is operable from both sides of the door so there is no chance of your child locking you in a room.

I was a little nervous opening the package as they seemed a little small; however, they seem to be holding up great and were easy to install – I didnât even need tools to get them out of the package, that was a nice surprise. Easy instal, no marks left; easily adjustable, easy to use and most importantly keeps my child and pets safe

Perfect for toddlers room
This âlocksâ the door without having to fully close the door. Easy to take on and off, easy for parents to open door. I used this when my 3 year old kept getting out of his bedroom in the night time. I let him know that when the lock is on, we have to stay in the room and sleep.
Helped teaching little one to stay inside
I felt so bad buying this but it has been a life saviour. We had an issue with our toddler not staying in his room at bedtime/naptime and playing with the door, slamming it constantly. We introduced the door monkey and he learned real quick that he can’t play around during quiet time. After one week of use, I barely need to use it anymore cause it worked so well!

Absolutely LOVE the Door Monkey. I have a few cats so some stay in my room at night, others hang out wherever 🙂 It gets cool in the rooms at the end of the hall so I bought 3 Door Monkeys to help circulate air and they work great. They also work to keep one of my cats, a 24 lb male Bigfoot 🙂 from getting in the kitchen with a new cat, they can see each other, smell each other but not fight 🙂 The only downside I find is that the arm section could be made of a stronger material as I know I am going to snap one when forgetting to take it off the door when not needed 🙂 Will definitely buy more when I need to, thank you for such a great product !!
Great product!
This product is so easy to use. My 9 year old can open it if I put it low enough for her to reach. Its easy to take off when its not in use and also take with us on trips. I love that it keeps my child from getting out without putting holes in my door or doorframe.
Work better then anticipated
Best buy I have made, works amazingly with my door and keeps my cats out of the laundry room with ease.
Soo easy to install – just pop on and easily pop off. As long as you put it high enough for toddler not to reach, itâs super effective and also easy to open and close (even in the dark, from both sides of the door). I used it when visiting family since my toddler often wakes before me and likes to explore. Our family members house isnât baby proofed and my kiddo is notorious for climbing over baby gates and I was worried about the stairs. This worked wonders, as the door doesnât completely close so he didnât feel âlocked inâ when he would accidentally close it during the day but kept him protected at night without me stressing about waking up when he did. We slept in the same room so it made it easier and safer when I would get up to use the restroom and was easy for me to use in the dark. Itâs my new go-to for traveling! I love that it keeps the door open about 2 inches but doesnât allow it to open any further. I think we are going to get them for the rooms in the house we donât want our dogs or toddler in so that the doors donât have to stay shut (better airflow). I love that these donât have to be permanently attached like many other door mechanisms and take 30 seconds to read the installation instructions and 5 seconds to install. Well worth it for piece of mind knowing my kiddo was safe while we slept and whenever I got up in the night.
The looks are flimsy but does the job well! very easy to install/uninstall!
No encontré las medidas exactas y aun asà los compré. Sin embargo el ancho de mis puertas (que yo considero son estandar), es dos milimetros más ancho que la apertura del gancho, por lo que ni siquiera pude intentar utilizarlas.
I thought this seemed like a universal fit but it doesn’t fit on my door. My door frame is apparently too wide. Had to return.
great, no drilling and no need to change all the door handles- which our dog can jump up and open!keeps her out of the bedrooms .. l’m about to buy 2 more.as the door frame was a bit wide for it l was able to use a knife to wedge off the small rubber tip and now fits perfectly.
