Appreciated that there were different methods of mounting this. I was able to hammer the smaller plugs for the screws but the larger bolt I was not physically strong enough to do, and I was determined to do this on my own! I needed this to protect my fresh trim paint from getting destroyed when the kids fling the door open and the standard ones from the hardware store were not long enough. Looks clean and modern and exactly what I was looking for.
These door stops fit the bill just fine for my needs. Installation was very easy, though there are a few different ways that you could install these with the included hardware. I found this to be excessive, and the company could probably forgo the metal anchors and pass the savings along to the consumer.You can either:1) install using a single metal anchor, which has a flat screw end protruding. This end screws into the door stop itself.2) use the metal plate. This is a circular plate with 3 holes – two on either side to secure the plate to the wall or whatever surface to which you’ll be attaching the door stop; and one in the center, which holds a screw upon which the knob will be twisted to hold it in place. Two plastic anchors are included for the outer 2 screws.2b) same as 2, but forgoing the plastic anchors.I chose to leave the anchors out of the equation entirely, and attached the plate to my baseboard using only the screws. None of the original door stops in our house use anchors, so I figured this would be fine. On the first one, it went great. The second one was also installed on baseboard. The screws that went into the baseboard in this case caused the wood of the baseboard to barely split. I don’t think it will be an issue, but if you’re concerned about the same thing, perhaps the anchor would have prevented it. (Or, perhaps drilling a hole in the baseboard would cause it to split?)Anyway, these door stops are just fine. I think they look nice and clean. The rubber tips are surprisingly hard, however, with basically no give to them.It would be hard to give these 5 stars, because an item has to go beyond my expectations in order for me to consider a 5-star rating.
