Changing the bed into 2 benches is a good idea but the workmanship is terrible. If I didnât need the bed this week for my grandson, I would have returned it. The wood shows through the paint in areas and some of the edges are rough. My husband had to sand down some areas to avoid splinters. The pictures are also deceiving. The benches look like they have a solid base but they have slats so you will need to get cushions made if you want to convert them to benches. There is also no little table (not that I care) as the pictures suggest. Overall IKEA has better workmanship than this.
Had one of the longer screws missing from the package which I hope isn’t detrimental to the build and safety…time will tell….I thought that normally there are extras of each but in this case it was one short!!Instructions are very good and the build quality actually seems sturdy and as described. I have only just build this a few weeks after receiving, so not so sure that a replacement screw would be forthcoming!!
Alot of review talk about how some parts are bigger than the others. But if you read the instructions 6 of them are smaller 2 are bigger and the rest are medium. They each have a specific place to go thats why the lengths are different. The thing it sucks is they dont label all of the stuff with letters. Just some. But with patience you will her it right. My daughter loves her bed. And refuses to get off of it sometimes lol. Just read the directions. And if a piece is too small then it doesnt belong there or you put another pieace wrong. Good luck!
This bed is very nice. I love it. It easy to assemble however there were some screws missing which make the process very difficult. I was not very excited about that. But overall nice bed. Size is perfect for my 2 years old. Itâs sturdy and worth the money
I’ve put together a lot of furniture off Amazon and this was definitely one of the more frustrating pieces. You either need a second person or you need to be very crafty, either way it will take some time to assemble. It’ssturdy and stable, but obviously not meant for jumping on or taking more weight than a small child. Rubber corners or padding should be considered as kids are clumsy. That said, it’s cute and my 22m old loves it. Perfect for tots transitioning from cribs to beds.
Terribly difficult to put together. Spent nearly four hours. Then my child stands up and wants to walk and run around on the mattress. Grabbing the end rails and playing around. The side railings are very low and my child can easily fall or jump off. Very unsafe for him. So we had to return the whole bedroom set. I would not recommend this if your child is too young to understand and likes to bounce around on everything. It is also an incredible nuisance to put together.
