good product
Works as advertised. Will order more for other doors in the house.
Works but doesnât last long
Got this in May for $11 CAD. Used it on the door to our basement (which we frequent about once daily). It lasted until November and then it snapped. Soâ¦for the price it was ok given that it did work but it only lasted 6 months. And now itâs another piece of plastic destined for the dump.Would I purchase it again? No. We just bit the bullet & bought a proper keyed lock & lever for the door instead for $60.Would I recommend it? Probably not. The new lock, while expensive, will be used for a few years and then resold or reused elsewhere. This thing, while inexpensive, is now useless after just 6 months.Does it work? Yes. Just donât expect it to last long.
This was easy to install and keeps toddlers out of the basement. We would buy this lock again. You have to pinch and push the lock to access your lever, toddlers canât get this lock moved. We found lever handle locks hard to find.
No lo recomiendo, muy dificil de abrir y girar el mecanismo hasta para un adulto, se necesita bastante fuerza
We discovered these life-savers when our 1 year old mini-doodle learned how to open doors with lever handles. Despite daily, aggressive attempts break-in attempts, we no longer have to worry about our bedroom and bathroom belongings being disturbed when we return home! Itâs been over a year and we are still so very impressed. Even tho heâs managed to crack the bottom half of 1, it still functions flawlessly! Easy install, easy use.
This is a reasonably priced item to help keep young children from opening doors with handles. Installation is fairly easy but does require disassembling the door handles and then realigning them. As others have mentioned, its operation is a little difficult at first but we were able to use it easily after a short learning curve.Unfortunately, it did not prove to be very durable as it did crack and is now useless after a few months of infrequent use. This item is cannot be recommended for long term child safety
We have levered handles on our front and back doors, and my 2.5-year-old kept “escaping” once he realized how to un-do the deadbolt. It would have been less of a big deal (as he was clearly easy to catch at that age) if he wasn’t also letting my wild maniac of a dog out at the same time. Finally decided we HAD to order something for his safety and my sanity, and I am so glad that this product fit the bill.Cons: it is not the easiest to install (i.e. the round handle door covers are a breeze comparatively). The loop that goes around the handle is tight and takes some getting used to for opening and closing (we have to train everyone who comes over on how to use it). Could also be a bit of a safety issue from an “emergency” standpoint as you cannot open the door from the outside if the outer handle is also levered. (This isn’t an issue for us on the front door as we have an interior lever and exterior “handleset” type door handle, BUT we are locked out if the lock is engaged on our back door due to levers on both sides.)Pros: here we are about 2 years later and our now 4.5-year-old still cannot open the doors to run outside without mom/dad and neither of the handles we ordered have broken in that time. BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT PROS — safety and sanity! I give it 5 stars for this reason alone.
