This Dreamegg sound machine and night light arrived very well packaged and included the main unit plus a power adapter and cable. There is also a user manual included.The nice thing about this device is that it can be controlled by the buttons on it or with an app that you can install on your phone or tablet.The app is called TUYA SMART and it was nice that I already had it on my phone since there are other devices that use this app.You install the app on your phone or tablet and it immediately recognizes that there is a device to add. You then add the Sound machine to the app and it opens up a lot of settings.From the app, you can select any of 34 relaxing sounds and control the type and color of light. The light brightness can be adjusted and you can select the color or have it change colors automatically.The app works very well and I have demonstrated some of the sound options on the video. I have also added some screenshots that show the different sounds available.As soon as you link the sound machine to the app the time on the clock sets automatically.You can also set up alarms on this sound machine and select how you want the alarm to go and which sounds and lights you want.You can save up to 8 of your favorite settings as well so you can easily go back to them.If you do not want your child to use the app they can adjust the sounds and the lights from the buttons on the top of the sound machine. They can adjust the volume as well as scroll through the different sounds. There are not all the options available on the app but the most important ones can all be controlled with the buttons.This is a very well-made device that offers lots of sounds, an alarm clock, and a night light. It has a lot of options and is easily controlled with with app and buttons.I am very happy with this sound machine and I do recommend it. It makes a perfect gift for a child or a mother as well.
Cute Design, But Needs Some Improvements
When I first opened the box, I was very happy to see that they included the adaptor. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that they use their old school plug while others have already moved to USB-C (If the line breaks, unfortunately, you won’t be able to replace just the cable since the cable and adapter are all in one piece.). The downside is that it needs to be plugged in, but that’s a minor inconvenience compared to all the benefits.The sky explorers theme is super cute and adds a magical touch to my baby’s room. One of my favorite features is the nap timer and the “OK to Wake” clock. It’s been great for teaching my kiddo when it’s time to get up, which means I get a bit more sleep too! The white noise and soothing sounds are perfect for helping my little one drift off to sleep without a fuss. Plus, the nightlight is just the right brightness for those late-night diaper changes. The soft mesh fabric bottom is really good and adds a nice touch to the overall design.Another downside is that the device is too dependent on the phone application. It would be great if they added actual buttons to set timers for the sound, like a 2, 3, or 6-hour timer. The clock is a nice touch, and I love that I can adjust the brightness, but you need the phone to make it happen.While the price of $75.99 CAD, even with the $6 CAD coupon, feels a bit high to me, I still truly recommend the Dreamegg Nite 1! It’s a fantastic choice for any parent wanting to enhance their child’s sleep routine and help establish healthy sleeping habits.
Love this way more than my son’s Hatch!!
Needed a sound machine for my second child’s room now that they don’t share anymore. My older son has the “Hatch” and while it is a sleek looking design, the ridiculous annual fee they charge just to get more than a handful of sounds makes the product far less appealing. I knew I wasn’t going to buy a second one of those – and was SO happy with the Dreamegg version! Not only does it have a cute spaceship cover (that can easily be removed when my son is older and doesn’t want it there anymore) but it has basically all the same features of the hatch, and is more user friendly! It has a great variety of sounds, a user-friendly app, and overall, I like the layout of the buttons much better than the Hatch as well! The buttons are right on top so you aren’t trying to reach around to find the volume in the dark. You can change how bright the light is, the colour of the light, the volume of the sound and can pause/play. You also have the option of going forward and back from one sound to another.It has very well written instructions, including how to connect to the app & how to use it. No obvious spelling or grammar errors like in most products these days. It also comes with a 12 month warranty and there is a QR code sitting right on top when you open the box for you to register it and get an extra 6 months warranty added for free!
