Cute but distracting
As a special needs consultant, I am willing to pay extra for learning-centered toys. I watched this item for over 6months in both the US and Canada before taking the plunge and buying it.I bought it for my 2yo who knows all his letter sounds and can piece together 2 phonemes at a time, but has difficulty with 3 or 4.The quality and durability are great. I would feel confident about throwing these in a net and using the dishwasher for cleaning. It also nice that there are 42 pieces since 26 is not enough for spelling multiple words. Another positive is that vowels are differently colored than the consonants.I really, really wanted to like this toy but ended up returning it because there were 2 features that kept distracting my kid.First, he didn’t understand the function of the poppers & I soon realized I didn’t either. I visualized in my head that he would push them as he sounded them out, but my intention was to use this for sound blending and pushing one at a time doesn’t help with that. Maybe it’s because he’s 2, but he kept wanting to pop them randomly.When he did so, it would also unlatch the bricks when they were locked together.Second, the bricks are difficult to fit together for a toddler. We could easily piece 2 letters together, but if we were stacking in one direction (i.e. horizontally) we couldn’t get them to stay conjoined. Instead, my kid kept focusing on how the “puzzle wasn’t working”.This might not be age-appropriate for a toddler who already knows his sounds and better suited for 4+ who struggle with letter sounds.Also, their instructions on ideas for usage didn’t suit our needs (e.g. picking out letters of your name) since he already mastered those skills.

I wish we had more letters (may need two sets to make more words).Great activity for beginning spellers/readers. Can also be used for phonological awareness activities.

Another fantastic learning resource. These are brightly coloured, perfectly sized for small hands and encourage children to recognise letters/words. I love the tub they come in â it’s perfect for storage. The centre pops in and out, which is great for thinking/concentration. They are quite pricey, but these will last and can be used over and over again. Perfect for home use or use in an educational setting. Absolutely do recommend!
My son and I love using these to spell and sound out words. It’s so exciting for him when he gets to connect them. He loves to push them in as he sounds out each letter.

These alphabet Bubblebrix are a great educational and sensory toy for toddlers. They come in a handy plastic storage jar with a carrying handle on the lid, and there are 42 Bubblebrix letters in the jar. They are small plastic bricks (a lot like the well-known interlocking plastic brick toy) with a rubbery fidget popper in the middle, and each fidget popper has a letter on it. Using the bricks you can make words by sticking the bricks together. The vowels are coloured pale blue and there are several of each, plus there are either one or two of each of the consonants which are random colours. The enclosed leaflet suggests some games you can play with your child using these bubblebrix. Our grandson loves playing these games and popping the letters. They feel very sturdy and of good quality, and they stand the test of being played with by a toddler.
