Reviews

  1. Simple set-up; good quality video and audio; bluetooth connection to app possible
The Eufy E21 is a well made baby camera and monitor system with lots of bells and whistles. It also features small quality of life improvements over its predecessor, the Eufy Spaceview. The camera itself is about the size of a soda can, but shorter. The camera is 4K, has black and white night vision, a 120 degree wide angle lens, 8x zoom (digital not optical), a built-in battery, and can pan about 330 degrees. It features a microphone that sticks out from a flexible wire. Note that the camera has some heft to it and the wire may be tempting to yank on with curious, small hands, so be sure to keep the camera far away from your child. The microphone features automatic noise cancellation to filter out noise from fans or traffic. It’s not perfect but it seems to reduce most background noise to a low “white noise” like drone. The kit comes with two mounts. One of the mounts allows you to mount the camera horizontally or vertically. The crib mount’s goose neck sticks out the back of the mount so if you plan to mount it on the backside of your crib, you need to make sure your crib is far enough from the wall to let the mount squeeze in there. Thoughtfully, the mount is fully padded with silicone on the grip and the top of the screw. Again, both mounts do not have integrated plugs or panduits for the power cable so wires will be sticking out of the camera, so care must be made that the wires are not accessible to your child. Unlike the Spaceview, the E21 does not come with a shelf mount, however I think these two options are superior. The system allows you to view footage on your smartphone with the Eufy app from anywhere in the world, if you have the WiFi enabled. Unlike some systems, you can view the live stream on the baby monitor and the smartphone app simultaneously. The baby monitor now has a thick, weighted base that lets it stand up by itself vs. the Spaceview’s skinny kickstand. This also makes the monitor a bit easier to hold – sort of like a video game controller. The buttons have a very shallow travel but when pushed give a satisfying click. The monitor has a 5″ screen vs. the Spaceview’s 6″, but this also makes it more portable. Like the Spaceview, you can play preset songs and lullabies from the monitor to the camera. The monitor can be charged by simply placing it on top of the included charging dock, which is great when it’s 2am and you really don’t want to have to fiddle with a USB cable. The really impressive thing is the portability of this system. The camera communicates with the monitor with Bluetooth by default. That means that if you don’t turn on the WiFi, it does not connect to the Internet and you do not need a subscription to view live footage. Combined with the long battery life of both camera and unit, you can pack both for a trip and set them up at your destination within a minute.

  2. Exceptional Baby Monitor with Crystal-Clear Quality and Ultimate Flexibility
I’m incredibly impressed with the eufy Baby Monitor E21! This monitor provides everything I could want for keeping an eye on my baby, with unmatched clarity and flexibility. The 4K resolution is amazing, allowing me to see every detail both day and night – I can even check if my baby’s chest is rising and falling with the ultra-clear night view. The pan-tilt feature and 8× zoom make it easy to monitor every corner of the room, and the split-screen option is perfect for parents of twins. One of the best features is the hybrid Wi-Fi and no-Wi-Fi option. It gives me peace of mind to use the secure, local connection at home, and the ability to check in from anywhere with the app when I’m away is invaluable. Plus, I can share access with family members, which has been a huge help! The monitor’s built-in battery is another big win – I can move it around freely without worrying about finding a plug, making it ideal for both home and travel. The smart alerts and active noise reduction are incredibly helpful. I get clear notifications for anything significant, from cries to temperature changes, so I can react quickly without being disturbed by unnecessary background noise. Overall, this baby monitor is secure, versatile, and provides unbeatable video quality. It’s a must-have for any parent looking for top-tier monitoring!

  3. Easy to use with clear audio and video.
This review is for the eufy Baby Monitor.  The first thing I really liked is the quality of the video.  I was surprised at how clear the video is and that you can see small details when you zoom in.  I also liked the pan and tilt functions and how smoothly they work.  Another thing I liked was how clear the sound is; I wasn’t expecting that.I found this easy to set up and use.  I’m using this strictly when I’m at home to monitor my dogs.  We’re dealing with behavioral issues, and having the monitor with me has allowed me to verify which of our dogs is the “culprit.”  The monitor itself is lightweight, easy to use, and so far durable (I dropped it twice so far with no damage).  This comes with a number of functions, including alert and sleep mode. You can also use this when out of the house by installing their app.  I am not using the app but did confirm that I could download and use it.  FYI, I could not download the app on my husband’s old phone, but I could on my newer phone.  For those wanting to use in a stationary position in a higher location, you can hang this up.  Overall, this seems well-made, and I rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

  4. Robust, great image quality and easy to use
This is a great baby cam that is able to be powered by internal battery and has very good quality video and image capability. The zoom is 8x and you up to 4K resolution for recording. The pan ability of 330 degrees and tilt of 60 degrees allows you to cover a larger room and you can monitor two infants in split screen mode. There are many functions including monitoring room temperature, sleep, crying and loud noise alerts allowing you to get more rest knowing you will be alarmed if the baby is crying. The Eufy app allows you to monitor the camera, change settings and control the pan/tilt.The video and image quality is terrific and even in night mode with IR the video and image is crisp and clear. When set to 4K resolution the video can be zoomed very close to an subject and remain clear, even at night. You will be able to see the babies facial expressions in the dark from a few feet away. The main unit is robust and the LCD bright and clear. The settings and functions are controlled with the buttons to the right of the display and are easy to press and is simple to operate. The built in battery allows the camera system to work without being plugged in which is great for portability.Overall this is a very robust and useful baby monitor that has many features including built in battery, 4K resolution and clear image and video day or night.

  5. I initially got this unit working and it was going fine. About 9 hours of monitoring no sleep mode or lost signal or some such thing and the Monitor locked up. Was unresponsive. It would only cycle to the loading start up screen. Then recovery screen loading would show. Never recovered. Would do this over and over as it is now doing as I type this. 2 days later. I emailed support. Got a canned message saying they got the complaint. Have heard nothing past that. Camera and phone app works well. When the monitor did work it has good range through multiple walls out to 60-80 feet. I’ll update to more starts if I have any help from the company. Company was very good on customer service. Sent an in stock alt replacement free of charge to keep until the monitor this camera came with is back in stock. Sent label to return the monitor that wouldn’t reset. Very happy w customer service. I’ll go 5 stars and when I receive the replacement OEM monitor for this 4k cam.

  6. I was looking for a camera that works offline and has a monitor as well, so this baby monitor fits my needs. I can use the baby monitor offline entirely, but I also installed the eufy Baby app from the Google Play store for remote viewing. The display and the camera each have a built-in battery, so I can use it even during a power outage. I didn’t have to pair the camera to the display. The camera instantly connected to the display. To link the camera with my phone for remote access, I had to scan the QR code at the bottom during initial setup. The app alerted me about a missing SD card. Initially, I couldn’t find the SD card slot, but then I found it. It’s right beneath the lens covered by a black rubber lid. The display has a charging stand and I can also charge it with a USB-C cable. The camera uses a USB-C charging cable as well.I use the baby monitor to keep an eye on my front door and surroundings, but I’m aware I can’t expose it to the elements. That’s why I placed it inside a birdhouse that I had to modify a bit so the baby monitor camera would fit inside. The camera has a wall mount that I used to anchor it inside the birdhouse. It also has a crib mount. As it has two-way communication, I can use the baby monitor if I don’t have internet and I don’t have access to my doorbell video camera. The speaker of the baby monitor camera is loud, but people have to stay close, no farther than 8 feet approximately, to hear them. The display’s picture looks sharp. I can see the battery level of the camera, the temperature, the time and date. I can pan and tilt and focus on a part of the image and magnify it up to 8 times. The display allows me to change brightness, set what alerts I get and the interval. It took me a bit of time to figure out how I can access the videos stored in the SD card with the display. It’s in the Event section of its menu. It even gives me a short tutorial on how to use the display’s video player. The videos are organized by date and titled by event type like loud sound or too cold. I can also play white noise. I have forest, cricket, rain, streams and alpaca bells available.Under camera settings, I can set the camera to disable audio recording, turn on or off night vision or set it to automatic, change the pan-tilt speed, format the SD card and see the storage space, turn on or off the LED light. Under monitor settings, I can change sleep mode settings. The monitor can also switch to Wi-Fi signal if the local signal is poor but for that I have to enable Smart Connect first. Under General, I can set time and date. There’s an option to do a factory restore. With the eufy Baby app, I have the same settings for my camera available. Yet, I can also share my camera’s livestream with others. They have to download the app as well though. Also within the app, I can remotely view the camera’s stream and go over past events recorded in the SD card. It works as outdoor video surveillance as long as I have it protected inside the birdhouse.

  7. Let me start off with this: I have used, bought, tested and reviewed over 15 various baby monitors in the last 4 years. Now, with that in mind – This camera is hands down, by far the best video quality along with practicality! Most cameras that I have used before will claim 2K or 4K but only display 720P on the monitor, if you want high quality you need the app. Which for me is pointless since I refuse to use apps after my monitor was hacked (not this one an older one). The image quality is absolutely amazing, I can zoom in all the way and see every little hair on my babies head with zero distortion. Color and night vision both offer vivid details and the perfect balance of brightness to contrast. Now, prior to this I had used eufy in the past and I wasn’t happy with the “wide” angle (even after buying the lens attachment) so I wasn’t expecting it to be great – but to my surprise it actually shows my whole crib and surrounding area while on a floor stand. My favorite part is the base station!!! This design is genius- let’s face it sometimes as moms we need go to grab the monitor and run, but fighting with the charging cable can be a hang-up. Not to mention after constantly unplugging the cable the ports tend to break. I love being able to grab my monitor at any given second and just go – you don’t realize how much this feature actually means until you use it!After using this monitor for a few weeks I have to come find some neat little features. The baby tracking feature is pretty neat – it will zoom in on the baby and follow them, which is nice for the little movers like mine.As for the Wi-Fi and app, I do not use this feature as I stated before a previous monitor was hacked so I don’t trust this. I would much rather just use my monitor. Conclusion: if I could give this monitor 10 stars I would. I have used so many monitors trying to find the best one that has all the little things I like (visual audio indicators, volume controls on the monitor, no WiFi, and of course HD). Take it from someone that has used probably every name brand and off brand baby monitor from Ellie, Vtech, momcosy, arenti, owlet, nanit all of them and more – this is by far my favorite monitor. Everything you want and need this camera has.

  8. I really wanted to like this monitor, the app was flawless. It truly was 4K on the app. The monitor itself is really nice. The camera is really nice. The problem is the monitor struggles with signal/ WiFi connection that it promises when the local connection is poor. I only got one bar or lost connection or maybe 2 bars of connection in my living room, which is only 25 feet away from the actual camera . I have tried Babysense, VAVA, Vtech, Nannit and now Eufy. So I have tried my fair share of monitors. This one is the only one that couldn’t connect from 25/30 feet away. If they could figure out how to make the monitor connect from further away. This would be a flawless design. I hate to send it back because I truly love the camera not needing to be plugged in if you travel somewhere. Which we do. But I will have to go back to my Babysense camera, it connects truly from hundreds of feet away. I don’t know why this gets 4/5 star from all the other reviews. I can’t be the only one struggling. Especially since Eufy even sent me a replacement monitor and that one didn’t work either. So be warned that you may not get connection from the local parent unit. The phone app is wonderful but not all parents want to use their phone 24/7 because the monitor struggles.

  9. We have all the other Eufy cameras outside and they have excellent picture quality, motion detection & sound quality. We bought this baby monitor expecting the same result and sadly, no motion detection. They missed the mark here and it makes zero sense! So if you have a kid with seizures like ours that doesn’t make a sound, or that elopes or climbs out of their bed without making a sound/ this is NOT the Eufy for you. We cannot believe they made a baby monitor with every feature except that one. If your kid doesn’t cry, or maybe silently pukes or chokes…. Don’t get this one. Returning disappointed. Especially for the price point.
