Our Favorite Pet Gate
We have 4 pet gates in use in our home, and this one is our favorite. The slide is long enough to cover both narrow and wide doorways. It’s hinges are designed to swing completely back, so it tucks out of the way- under our hallway shelf- giving us so much more room than our other gates to get by it, move things down the hallway etc. It installs easier- by adhesive or screws. No fighting with pressure gates and no annoying bar across sitting on the floor to trip over. Because it is rigid and slides across, it’s easier to lines up the fixtures and screws on the opposite side so the gate is even. It’s lightweight, and you can see through the blue sturdy plastic so you can easily see what your dogs are up to. Rather than having to push the lock down or sideways to open the gate, you press both sides in- and it doesn’t require a lot of pressure. You wouldn’t think that would make a difference, but when you have 4 different gates in the house- trying to remember which one presses down, down and up, sideways etc can be irritating in the moment. I find pressing both sides just easier to remember, maybe because its so close to the natural tendency to grasp or grab something. And because this has no bar running across the floor, I could install it higher on the wall. Our cats can get under it, but our dogs can’t. Where we’ve situated this gate and because of its swing function, we found we could block off the kitchen, front door, and basement stairs- just by swinging it around.Now for us- this gate is perfection. But if you have large or very strong and determined dogs, this gate may not be heavy duty enough. Our dogs are 155 lbs, 85 lbs, and 30 lbs. It only works so well for our very large dogs because neither of them try to get over- or through- a barrier. We’ve been fortunate this way. The little Bernedoodle is the one I suspect might get through this when he gets older. He’s the one who has tried to jump gates, crawl under, or dig right through them. Maybe by that time we won’t need gates anymore lol
Quite Flimsy
The gate itself is quite flimsy. It was easy to install. However, this is not a gate I would recommend as the quality is low. I have one of the ones made out of medal bars, and it’s much better quality at a similar price.
Amazing
Nice materials, strong pine wood as the frame, the center barrier is made of blue plastic, and is gate is suitable for doorways, stairs, hallways, porch and kitchen spaces.
Easy to install and works perfectly to keep ferrets out of forbidden rooms.
I use this for my ferret to keep her in her room and itâs perfect. She canât jump out or move it. Great for the dogs too
I was not sent the gate from the picture and description. Even after getting a replacement. It was the same retractable mesh gate. Which would work fine enough for a dog but I ordered this specifically for ferrets. And this gate is worthless for that use.
This really helped keep my pup in my room when I wanted to keep the door open. Not a fan of the blue tinted plastic, but it worked well
It works and the adhesive is easy to install. Would only recommend for puppies or small dogs because it feels really flimsy like the blue plastic will crack if I had a very active dog. Also don’t love the blue plastic. I wish it was clear or white at least.
