Reviews

  1. Works well.
Good value and works well but the battery died soon after purchase.

  2. NOT A RELAIBLE ONE , TEMP FLUCTUATES CRAZY
This item is not reliable , I intended to use it to provide temp upto 1 decimal but it is fluctuating crazy from the reference temp monitor

  3. Great temperature alarm for chest freezer
I put this on our downstairs chest freezer to warn us if there’s a problem before everything is thawed. The instructions could be more clear, but it isn’t too difficult to set up and works well. It uses a wired temperature probe so you don’t need to worry about batteries for the probe, and the wire is small enough that the door insulation will close around it. It might not be the best for a refrigerator since the wire may get caught in the doors. I’d prefer if it used a double or triple A battery instead of a button cell, but with a wired probe the battery is not in the cold so should last a while (and they give you a spare). I just put the alarm on the lid of our chest freezer, and the magnet on the back holds it in place when you lift the lid.

  4. Awesome for fridge/freezer, but add a blob of putty
It’s so helpful to get an agnostic reading of these temps so you know that your food is being stored safely! Each of these devices separately measures ambient temp around the device and temp of the wired probe. You could put the device in the fridge and the wired probe in the freezer, but it would be hard to hear the alarm with the fridge closed, and the battery life would suffer. As a result I bought 3 of these. 1 each for fridge, freezer and deep-freeze.I originally just closed the cables in the magnetic door, but it made enough of an air gap that there was some condensation and freezer frosting. The probes are only about 4mm wide, so I used a skewer to poke a hole through the accordion-seal, fed the probe through it and no more frost. One important hack was to put a ball of duct-seal putty over the probe to slow down its temperature changes, otherwise the alarm would trigger every time the door was opened and sound every 10 seconds until the cold balanced out again. It’s been a year so far and the batteries are still going strong, unlike the other probes that put the device and batteries inside the fridge or freezer. Each of these also ships with a spare battery, which is great.Setting the alarms is a bit weird as these devices were designed to be on a windowsill with the probe out the window, so the programming refers to “inside” and “outside”.”Inside” refers to the temperature of the actual body of the device. (which is outside your fridge)”Outside” refers to the wired probe (which is inside your fridge).Google the ideal temps for your fridge and freezer, and set the alarms s few degrees higher, and you’re all good!

  5. It didn’t last
This thermometer was used for my aquarium. It didn’t last 2 years and as it failed it gave false temperature readingsThe fish were not happy.

  6. Great
    It works really good

  7. not easy to to set up.
need to monitor fridge temp for supplies

  8. works well
first off package was easy to open, set up is simple and performs really great. They even give you a spare battery. Hope I won’t need it soon.

  9. So someone in our family left our basement freezer door open. All our frozen meats and soups and lasagnas and whatnot all thawed and came up to room temp for more than 48hours. High $ loss. I bought this “alarm” to make sure we notice if this ever happens again. This is a decent temperature monitor with a remote probe. It has an alarm function that you set a range of acceptable temps. Outside this range, the alarm is triggered. So for example you can set it to -20F to 25F and if your freezer gets warmer than 25F or colder than -20F it beeps. You can set this range from like -58F to 200F.The problem though is that the alarm is pretty quiet. You are not going to hear it two rooms away. Maybe even not one room away. Also it only beeps 5 times, then silent for 1 minute 13 seconds and 5 more beeps and so on. So you could be walking past your freezer during the 73 seconds of silence and not know you had an alarm.I’m going to look for a louder alarm. This one is fine for monitoring your temps, but don’t expect to hear the alarm if say you have your freezer out in the garage…

  10. I need a new freezer thermometer with an alarm that is loud. The reviews for this thermometer led me to believe the alarm was loud. It is NOT. You can barely hear it four feet away. The thermometer is to replace an one that isn’t loud and quit working altogether because of the probe wiring wasn’t attached well. So, I will keep it for temperature. The search is on elsewhere, not Amazon. Seems the thermometers with alarms on Amazon just don’t work well.

  11. Simple setup, up and working within a few minutes. Easy to read without glasses
