Customer service
I’m hoping for a little here and this is no way a criticism to Funpola, my opinion the best out there by a country mile. So that said I’m on instruction 67 telling me to try my gears to make working correctly.I’m no master builder by any means, but actually I was quite thrilled my piano keys are actually working correctly. I’ve got absolutely no idea how to test my gears or if they are working. When assembly was done for me I found it to be quite stiff no matter how much I waxed. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Either way my piano keys working is for me, quite a success So all you really master builders out there, help would be appreciated..Many thanks
Classy puzzle and decoration.
FUNPOLA 3D Wood Keyboard Piano Model Kit, Playable 3D Wooden Puzzle Digital PianoThis is the perfect match between musical instruments and puzzles. It looks nice, the materials are basically cardboard but it isn’t flimsy at all once it is assembled. It doesn’t look cheap either, and due to the level of complexity and the number of parts, you will spend a few hours before finishing it.I think it would make a nice gift and even after enjoying the puzzle, you can always display it somewhere and it’ll look great.
3D wood puzzle
This is a great wood puzzle with details, each piece has the elegant look. I’m sure it will look fantastic when is done, the best thing it’s it can be played after putting them together. This could be a great gift for anyone. I’m ordering this for my children about 12 years old. It’s complicated, but I’m confident they could finish it with some help. It could be a family time together, and team work. Recommend!
It arrived and looks beautiful, I have yet to gift it!!!
The pieces are sturdy and well cut and fit together well…one or two spots needed a tad of glue to help them along. It was charming looking when finished, and did play music!!!!! Really not complicated if you are used to kits.
The piano puzzle looked challenging when I first opened the box. When I went through the instruction booklet and did each step slowly I found it wasnât hard at all. I wish the instructions stated in big bold letters to peel the paper off try off the plastic pieces. I didnât see it until halfway through. I was able to dismantle and peel off the paper. I also wish the kit came with a marker that was the same color as the âstainedâ wood to touch up the wood where the punch-outs were located. I used a stain marker that I had for touch up. It worked but the I could still see where the marks were on the wood pieces because it wasnât the same color.I really enjoyed putting the kit together. I plan to try another one.
I really love the proliferation of these kits into the public consciousness. They started coming out a few years ago as boxes full of random wood, plastic and pom poms that you glued together, and paper you’d cut out to make something vaguely resembling whatever the kit intended. Now, because of a mix of the manufacturing technology improving, as well as the fan base growing — thanks in part to everyone having to stay home — we have much more detailed, laser-cut, laser-etched models to put together. And now, competition amongst those who manufacture the various kits has resulted in a lot of different variations, styles and models coming out almost monthly!I like these unfinished kits because there’s lots of room for customization. Even if that isn’t the aim, the bare wood is always an invitation for me to paint or kit bash it until it’s to my liking. It extends the time spent on each project — which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it — but generally I like these enough, that I really enjoy spending extra hours painting them. It’s not a costly hobby, either, as acrylic paint for wood is one of those things that you can still get relatively cheaply, and is available nearly everywhere you can find crafty items. As with most kits being made presently, the laser cutting has improved to the point where you no longer need a blade to get the pieces out, lest you end up with a broken or splintered piece. All of the pieces popped right out for me, and most everything fit together well, on the first try, with a little firm pressure. The one thing I will say is that, you have to be dexterous to get some of the parts to fit together right. There is a ‘tool’ included, but all it is, is another piece of wood. If you’re a child, or someone arthritic putting these pieces together, I can imagine there might be a frustration factor at play. Especially in pieces that have more delicate parts that stick out; finding a place to apply firm pressure becomes difficult. That said, this kit went together well, as not all kits of this type are created equal. That is, cheaper companies will used cheaper, less firm fiber/pressboard. This kit had nice, firm material that wasn’t given to warping or bending when pressed firmly. As with any of these kits, tools are kind of an afterthought. When I first started doing these, it kind of incensed me that I spent x-amount of dollars for fiberboard and they couldn’t be bothered to include decent glue, but now that I’ve done over 20 of these, it just comes with the territory, I guess. That is to say, invest in some decent glue, maybe a bit of sandpaper, and have a screwdriver kit on hand, for every eventuality, if you plan on making a habit of building these things. Any kit with moving parts — especially gears — has a tendency to include a wax cube, so you can “wax with remind” as one kit’s directions put it, and they don’t get jammed on one another while in motion. This was a fun way to while away more than a few hours, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone looking for a quirky, yet constructive way to pass the time!
I’ve done several of these laser-cut wood puzzles, and I’d say this one is a standout, for a couple of reasons. The instructions and parts are well made — one important aspect, especially if this is for an older child, is that there are not many fragile parts. Some of these kits have some very skinny pieces that are so easily broken just even trying to get them separated from the wood panel, which can usually be fixed but is still frustrating. Another very nice aspect of this kit is the final look, it doesn’t have that chunky-made-from-a-flat-pack look, it’s colorful and well decorated. It also has a combination of wood, plastic and electronic parts. The final result is even fun to play with.Either by design or by accident, the kit starts off easy and gets more difficult near the end, culminating in a challenging assembly involving very very tiny screws — but if you didn’t want to deal with those screws you could use glue instead. The box estimates 6-10 hours, which is in ballpark, it took me probably 5 or 6 hours working on it casually on and off for a few days.
