Glaxal Base Moisturizing Cream, 450 g

Excellent product
This cream goes a long way. Once it is applied it seems to disappear into your skin but still lubricates very well. I would recommend this for anyone who does not like the greasy feel of most moisturizing creams.

Good bulk size if you know what you’re getting into (smell)
This product has a very strong smell – its fragrance free so I think its more described as a “clinical” kind of scent that some unscented products have. Fragrance free doesn’t mean no smell. I would describe it as a very persistent and strong smell of paint. Some people will not be happy about this but I can tolerate it. The smell will fade a bit over time (or perhaps I just get used to it, who knows).I am unsure of what the consistency is supposed to be, but I thought the consistency was in the middle (not thick, and not watery). It is significantly less thick than Nivea Creme, to give you an idea. I’d probably compare it to Ponds face cream.In my opinion, this is not a moisturizing cream but more of a petroleum based barrier cream. So it doesn’t necessarily “add” moisture but it protects it from the elements so it can improve better on its own, if that makes sense. I use it overtop other products sometimes to seal it in. I personally saw some improvement and relief with areas that get dry and also irritated from chafing.I have not tried diluting it, I just apply a little bit. I don’t find it greasy at all and only a small amount is needed for an area, so I can see this tub lasting a very very long time.OBviously would recommend trying out a little bit before committing to the enormous size. Some people use this instead of the Cerave creams that people like as a barrier repair cream. But I wouldn’t consider this an all purpose/one size fits all product, best to do some research first.

Good product, a bit pricey
I’ve seen this brand and product before in stores but it was never under serious consideration because I generally prefer the convenience of pump bottles versus a huge jug of paste. Well, the weather is getting colder and drier and I’d try anything if it helps relieve dry skin on my hands. Compared to something like Lubriderm, I think this works about as well and feels non-greasy. I also like that it is unscented and paraben-free. Perhaps the biggest advantage here is towards the end, you can actually scoop out every last drop unlike other dispenser types. My only gripe is the high cost over other similar products (also from known brands). Doesn’t seem worth it for such marginal differences in effectiveness.
