1. My haakaa can‘t work for me. Why couldn’t I collecting or only collecting a small amount of breastmilk?
First, ensure that the Pump is securely attached with a strong suction. Using a warm compress, pumping in the shower, pumping first thing in the morning, and gently massaging your breast, are all easy ways you can stimulate more milk to be expressed!
2. My Haakaa pump is hurting when I’m pumping. How can I stop it feeling this way? What causes the pain?
Maybe suction too strong. Try to just lightly squeeze the base and attach to your breast making sure your nipple is in the centre of the pump and not touching the sides of the Pump. The more air gets squeezed out, the stronger the suction will be.
3. Why does my Haakaa has a strong smell of plastic? Is there any way to get rid of the smell?
Make a paste of baking soda and water, rub it all over the Pump and then soak it in a 50-50 mixture of white vinegar and warm water for about 30-60min. Then clean your pump thoroughly with warm soapy water. Finally, boiling in hot water for 2-3 mins.
4. My haakaa breast pump just lose its suction and fall off when I use it. What should I do?
First of all, make sure that you are using the breast pump the right way. Follow the instructions above. If there is residue that causes the breast pump to lose suction, you can use the odor removal method in the 3rd question to remove the residue.
5. What times of the day are better to use a breast pump to collect breastmilk?
The easiest time to express milk using a breast pump is in the morning! For the rest of the day, it’s best to express 30 mins to 1 hr after feeding your bub. You can also catch let-down with haakaa from the other breast while your baby is feeding.

The new haaka design is a must have. If you have the old design buy this one. It stays on wayyyy better and if you have leakage like me when you pump or feed you need this to catch it. Your missing out on a good amount of waste if you just let your boob drain into your shirt.You have to have a haaka. Buy two so you have one in the ready always.

I haven’t had a chance to use the Haakaa yet, but I think this product is going to change my BF experience for second baby. So much easier to clean and sanitize, the size is perfect for easy packing and it will be great for catching milk while baby feeds. Super stoked to have this!

The Best Pump thing exists on earth!
This alone is sufficient as for pumping needs and is painless, no hassle to assemble and wash endless parts like electric ones, and trust me when i say it, this works better than a high rated Electric pump. Highly recommended for all lactating moms!

The Haakaa is well made, the plastic is thick and the suction is great. I bought this model for its storage lid but think the flower dropper option would also be very useful (and quicker to put on). I originally bought NatureBond because it offered more features at a lower price (e.g. stopper and neck strap) but it quickly lost its suction after use whereas the Haakaa’s suction remains strong. It collects letdown reliably.
The Haaka collector is SO helpful for breastfeeding moms. Whether youâre using it to manually express breastmilk, or only as a letdown collector, it comes in handy to have at all times. There is strong suction to eliminate the need for holding it in place, and the section can be adjusted by hand depending on comfort and what itâs being used for. The material is so easy to clean after use and is thick and sturdy. I absolutely love the suction cup portion at the bottom of the collector to easily prevent spills, because no mom wants to see collected milk go to waste due to an accidental knock. The cover is also so helpful to have, whether you are interrupted while feeding, or want to store in the refrigerator for a brief period of time before using- it helps to prevent contamination and spills.
If you plan to breastfeed and plan to buy anything in advance, make it this. You will be so happy you have it in the early days, especially as your milk comes in. A much cheaper alternative to a pump and you can catch milk in it when feeding from the other breast. Easy to clean and great value.
