HELPS WITH FEEDING ISSUES – haakaa breastfeeding nipple shields are designed to assist with latch difficulties, flat or inverted nipples, and protects sore or cracked nipples, helping mothers continue breastfeeding.
SAFE FOR MUM & BABY – haakaa silicone nipple shield for breastfeeding is made of soft food-grade silicone, BPA, PVC, phthalate and lead-free. One-piece easy-care design is easy to clean and sterilize, making it convenient for everyday use.
ROUND BASE NIPPLE SHIELD – The extended teat design increases the distance between mum’s nipple and the shield head, preventing the baby from biting the nipple. The variable flow teat helps prevent the baby from choking when milk flows too fast. The nipple teat mimics a baby bottle, aiding the transition from breastfeeding to bottle-feeding.
THE USE OF ROUND BASE NIPPLE SHIELD – Before suctioning to your breast, express a few drops of milk into the shield. This will encourage your baby to accept the shield’s nipple as they latch on. Before use, clean the shield in boiling water and ensure your breast is clean and dry. Then, squeeze the chamber, fold back the base and centre over the nipple. Press onto your breast and slowly release until you feel light suction. You may need to adjust a few times until you find a comfortable position. As your baby feeds, your milk will flow continuously into the extended teat.
CONVENIENT STORAGE CASE – haakaa nipple shields come with a storage case that keeps the nipple shields clean and dust-free when not in use.

Reviews

  1. It works!!!!!
My baby is almost two months and she takes mostly bottles due to a very poor suck reflex from birth. She also had a tongue tie release but still could not stay on the breast for long. Slowly, she developed more of a bottle preference. I bought this today to try and she latched on right away!!!! So happy that it works despite the low ratings and she was able to stay on my breast:)

  2. Doesnt work
    It didn’t work for me.

  3. Breastfeeding hardship
I tried the classic medela nipple shields with no success. I didn’t even know these made this style. The first time I used them my daughter nursed for 15 minutes when we had been able to get her on for no more than 3 minutes since she was a couple weeks old. It is a similar shape to the Dr browns nipples we use. It was difficult at first to get it suctioned on because the material is thicker than a traditional shield but once we got the hang of it it was easy.

  4. Hard material
Material is very hard and difficult for baby to suck on it. And it doesn’t stay on very good.

  5. Beyond my expectations
It is very useful product. I used breast pump for two months. When I see This product I buy it. It helps me a lot. Time saver as I have two use pump for two hours every day. Now baby latch it properly and drink milk directly . Highly recommended.

  6. nice
    works

  7. Reçu ouvert et souiller 🤢
Je l’ai reçu ouvert et souiller il est moisi de lait je doit recommander et attendre encore 🙁

  8. Does not stimulate the nipple
I liked the idea initially, and the baby latched well on the shield but the shield itself does not stimulate the nipple enough for a letdown. Stick to the hospital recommended nipple shields like the Medela brand, or in my case I went back to exclusively pumping and using a bottle.

  9. I dreamed of having the perfect nursing experience where my baby figured it out quickly, easily, and I would have nothing else to worry about except healing postpartum. Well, that did not happen and I was left in painful ups and downs trying to find a perfect pump to keep my little one breastfed. He couldn’t latch very well and the conformation of my nipples did not help. I even had a Madela nipple shield that was completely useless. Pumps can only extract so much and trying to find a pump that has the perfect setting is pretty much impossible. I went through probably 5 different brands and styles of them. At week 6 and waking up to extremely painful engorgement, I figured I had given it everything my body and mind could take. I’m not even sure how I even made it to that point. My husband was stressing over me as well and with one last ditch effort before he was about to beg me to stop and exclusively formula feed our son (already supplementing a small portion), he happened to come across these Haakaa nipple shields with the bottle end shape. They are pricey but not so much so that I wouldn’t try them. This was my Hail Mary pass for nursing. If these didn’t work, I would have to go to formula feeding. It wouldn’t be what I wanted but I wouldn’t judge myself. It’s astonishing what some of us moms go through. Of course we all want the Instagram or YouTube pregnancy but not all of us get that. Some of us get the world war version. I would do this all over again for my son 100%. However, I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS SHIELD FROM DAY ONE! I can’t figure out why this wasn’t recommend to me by any of the 3 lactation consultants I had visit me. It actually frustrates me.I read the bad reviews for this but don’t let those deter you from AT LEAST trying them. I didn’t.These saved me from giving up on nursing. Of course my little one latched easily to these as he’d been drinking from a bottle nipple. His latch and suction power almost immediately relieved me of engorgement that even sunflower lecithin struggled to release. My mood and outlook did a 180 immediately. I had tears of joy that I could now feed my baby directly to my breast.I have been using these for over 2 weeks now, happily. The quality is excellent. I use them in conjunction with the Haakaa lady bugs. I put a little lady bug on one breast while he nurses on the other so I fully collect. If he’s full, I save what is left in the freezer.SUCTION POWER: Give the tip a squeeze to create a vacuum. This will help it stick. Once my baby starts sucking, it stays in place. Keeping them sterilized also helps (I have an Avent sterilizer with the drying feature). Sometimes it’s a bit more fiddly when I’m tired but I don’t get too frustrated in those moments because I know I’m tired and it’s nothing compared to what I’d gone through up to that point. It may not be “Disney” perfect like directly on the nipple, but it’s close enough for me and better than having to give up. Thank you Haakaa for this nipple shield design! It has seriously blessed my baby and me and my whole family for that matter. They were literally an answer to prayer.

  10. I received one piece in the description they mentioned two pieces

  11. It didn’t work for me

  12. I’m sorry for giving it a 2 stars. I guess it’s a s upper biased opinion of me trying to get my baby to come back to breastfeeding and it didn’t work. But she did enjoy it as a bottle feel and it sort of worked. Only issue is that it’s not a good product to keep supply up because it doesn’t effectively draw out milk. Easy to use. Cleaning is easy. Just wish it worked better for me

  13. I was never able to breastfeed my first born for several reasons but with my second I was determined to make it happen. She started out with tongue and lip ties and could not latch which caused me to pump and bottle feed early on. We saw several lactation consultants who kept encouraging a nipple shield to transition from bottle to breast. However, she hated the size and feel of the standard nipple shields and refused to latch with them. Also, they fell off frequently causing a hungry baby to get frustrated. This nipple shield changed our whole BF trajectory! It’s easy to put on and stay on, it promotes consistent flow and allows you to see your milk come in knowing that baby is getting enough. She has no problem taking to it because it’s like a bottle nipple. I am one grateful mama to whoever invented this!
