This baby doll is so incredibly life-like and so cute! My daughter is having a baby in a few months, and she has a five year old, autistic son. She introduced this baby to her son to try to get him familiarized with the fact that he’s going to have a baby brother or sister (it’s a brother, btw). My grandson loves the doll and he’s so sweet with it! The doll is so cute, and it would definitely be a great gift for any child.
This is such a sweet doll. She matches the photos and makes real-life baby sounds from the unit in her back. It takes 3 AA batteries (not included), and screws shut so kids can’t open it. She measures accurately and has a soft, hollow full vinyl head/body that is anatomically correct (modestly done). Her head/limbs are easily poseable and she has realistic coloring throughout, including tiny blue veins and pink capillaries. Her nails are shiny pink with fairly tidy white tips painted on. Her eyelashes are glued on, not rooted, and a bit of glue shine is in the corner of the eyes and a tiny shine dot is on her cheek. She also has the exact same rough spot on the back of her leg, same leg and area, as the first doll. This must be a defect in all of them, but it’s very small and you can’t see it. It’s a pea-size dot that is rough, but not discolored. This one’s legs don’t look like they have a rash anywhere near as much as the first doll. It looks like it was colored that way on purpose to mimic a newborn’s sensitive skin. Her sounds work well and respond to actions as they should. This doll is good for teaching empathy and promoting awareness of others’ needs.
My granddaughter loves this doll & I live watching her with it. When she’s playing I see her nurturing & giving nature. The doll is cute and a great price for the quality.
If you are looking for a play doll for a young child, you will need to decide how much anatomically correct you are prepared for. Some dolls have suggested but not overally developed parts but this one is fully sculpted. If you child has a baby sibling, this might be a good doll to allow her to mother her own baby.I have uploaded lots of closeups so that you can see the quality of this baby. She is not as realistic as some, but she is not a mere play doll either. She does have delicately painted hair and rooted eye lashes. She has a full-vinyl body and is jointed at the neck, legs and arms. She also has a crudely placed battery box in her back. Though the enclosed paperwork says to use 3 IAAA batteries, she actually needs 3 AA batteries. Once the batteries are in and the doll is turned on she will start making sounds. At rest she had a soft snore that sounds more like an animal than a baby. You can toss her into the air and she will laugh. But you can also hit her and she will cry and if you hold her upside down from her feet she will scream. I am not sure what the point of those last two modes are.The doll is dressed in a one-piece outfit that velcros in the back. It comes with a matching cap. The print is or a bear and has the words âSnoopyâ printed. She had a magnetic mouth and comes with a magnetic pacifier. It is not very strong so she will not keep it in very well. She also comes with a sippy bottle with handles and a birth certificate.
I’m 63, and I’m surprised that the material this doll is made of is a whole lot like the dolls I had as a little girl, so that was a bit disappointing. It doesn’t have a cuddly feel to it that I had hoped for. My mother has dementia and I’ve heard that baby dolls can be a comfort to people like her, but I have my doubts since this one doesn’t feel at all life-like. The little outfit is soft but not very cute, so I ordered another one for it.On the other hand, the face is really well made and very cute. The sounds it makes fooled my cat into believing there was another human in the house, and that was fun. A friend of my son’s just had a baby girl a couple of months ago, so when she’s old enough for a baby doll I’ll give her this one. Two year olds have low expectations. lolThe price for this is too high for the material they used. I don’t know why the description said that it’s soft, because it just feels like vinyl. I wouldn’t order it again. I’ll keep looking for a softer doll for my mother.It came well packaged and on time.
