This cover does it’s job. It is definitely tricky to open and close. It takes some coordination that tiny fingers canât manage. If you have a power strip that you donât need to access frequently, this is ideal. I would not use this if I needed to plug and unplug items a lot. I prefer not to use this with power strips that have short cords close to an outlet, because the baby just changes focus to the outlet instead of the power strip and tries to pull the cord at the outlet. We have a power strip that has a long extension cord which I think this is better suited. This cover is adjustable and can be quite large (when I first saw it, I thought it was a small white toaster). Itâs not the most elegant looking thing but itâs on the floor and looks better than a spider web of cords in which the baby immediately wants to get tangled.
My wife bought this for her work computer outlet, since my son tends to spend time in the room with her while she works at home, and is very curious. After a few times of him unplugging her during work, she resulted in ordering the fort knox of power strip protectors. It works. He cant get into, but neither can she. So if you dont need to touch the plug, this is a good solution, otherwise you will be cursing to get this thing off any time you need to access the plugs.
Looks OK but itâs awkward to get the power strip in and the cable out of the slot. It takes some tugging and jiggling. and having the cable come out of the top is not as nice looking as those boxes where the cables come out of the side and can be placed so they face the wall. Iâll keep it but Iâll buy a different one for my other power strips.
We ordered this to protect a power strip from both my toddler and our very clever standard poodle while we have decorations up for the holidays. The cover was easy to figure out and use, and so far it has held up well. It makes me feel a lot better than having the bare power strip within reach of little hands (and also curious dog paws and teeth!). For the price I definitely think this is worth it.
