I don’t normally leave reviews. Although I certainly rely on reviews to figure out if a product is going to work for our needs. I did a lot of searching, reading, and comparing different gate and fence products before buying this one. We have a gas fireplace and need to keep our toddler off it and this product did exactly what we neededHere are some of the reasons why we like this product:1. The wall attachments are awesome. Because they clamp on the rod of the gate/fence they can be positioned in different angles to work for whatever design/space you have.2. The panels and gate go together super easily and tighten between panels so that they maintain their form/shape. We have hardwood floors and these panels do not stick to the floor so they have some play but not enough to allow our toddler to push it over or push it back enough to reach the fireplace. That said, we put anti-slip material below the fencing and that solved this issue. If you have carpet the paneling we surely hold in place!3. The gate works really well. You pull the lock on the handle back, lift up, and pivot the gate open. You need to lift up because there is a second pin that holds the bottom of the gate in place. The design works really well and is sure to keep your baby/toddler from figuring it out and opening it.4. It’s well made. The welding is done well. The black paint looks good.5. EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. When reviewing this product I noticed a number of other reviews where customers had gate/fence parts break and the company, Inspirer Studios, replaced them without hassle. For me, that was a BIG selling feature. When you buy a product like this, there is a decent chance that a part may break with general wear. Although most probably don’t break, it may happen. Having a company be willing to stand behind their product and replace parts that break goes a long way in today’s consumer climate.5a. The hinge part on our gate broke months after purchasing this product. I contacted the company through their website and after sending a few photos of the broken part they sent me a new gate without delay. It is really nice and rare for companies today to have such great customer service. In addition, because we don’t like to throw away stuff, I figured I could probably fix the gate in place to use as a panel since the hinge wouldn’t provide the functionality to open/close anymore. But to make it useful I needed four more wall mounting parts. I asked the company if they would throw in the wall mounting parts so I could do this and they were happy to accommodate my request.6. Support a Canadian company!I cannot recommend this product and company enough!
Good 8 panel fence
Nice fence and gate. 8 panel is good value if you have a use for two different fences, e.g. 4 segments (without gate) in front of gas fireplace where you don’t need to access often, and 4 segments (including gate) somewhere else. Good customer service response as well.Edit — To Allyson: mine didn’t come with the wall mounts in the box and Inspirer Studio sent me a replacement pack of wall mounts so they should be able to provide you with some new ones.

Easy to set up
Sturdy, Assembled, Convenient
I bought this pen to use as a fence in order to block off some rooms in my house to prevent my senior dog with a torn ligament from running around and causing himself more damage. After HOURS of comparing baby/pet gates and fences, I finally settled on this one and hoped for the best. It arrived already assembled and with wall mounts in a baggy on the side; just pull out of the box and unfold and you are basically set.The bars and frame are metal so it has excellent weight and sturdiness to it. I specifically was looking for a product that could work as a free standing fence, since I intend to only use it temporarily and I did not want to start drilling holes into the walls. While the weight is solid and it feels sturdy stretched out in a fence position on my tile flooring, I didn’t feel super confident that it wouldn’t fall over if someone (or my dog) was to bump into it. To be fair, the instructions with the pen do say that it should not be used without the wall mounts, so keep that in mind. I would have liked the ends to be more like “feet” and cover more area and be more weighted at the ends so it could be safely freestanding, but it is still impressively sturdy for the price (only about $40 more than the plastic versions sold by other brands).The swinging gate is convenient and allows a fair amount of space; the sliding lock on the top is made of plastic however and may not hold up long. You do need to slide the lock and lift the gate up, as there is also a mechanism on the bottom that needs to be released to fully open. The gate can swing towards you or away from you and will lock into an open position when at 90 degrees. The joints are also plastic, so be careful how hard you push/pull on them.My dog is medium sized: 60lbs, 20″ tall – approx 2 ft with his head held up. The fence’s height of 29″ was perfect for him as I figured he wouldn’t attempt to climb or jump anything that is above his head level. He is not a particularly smart boy, so he hasn’t tried to push past the fence at this point in time; he likely would be able to if he tried since we aren’t using the wall mounts. To easy my worry, I ziptied some of the poles to a heavy wooden dining room chair (with the chair in the room we have blocked off ) and have used a brick as a kind of “door stop” to give it some extra stability. Some things to keep in mind when planning your set up.Overall, was so impressed with the quality of the materials that we ordered a second one right away to use in the backyard, since this is one of the only products I’ve found that uses anti-corrosive materials to withstand outdoor use (again keep in mind, with the plastic joints it won’t likely last extreme cold, but hot and rainy weather is what I need it to withstand at this point in time).Although I wish it has some minor tweaks to make it completely freestanding, for the price and overall quality I say it’s a good buy.

This gate is amazing. Well made and folds up easily. I live in an older house and the iron railing on my stairs does not work for traditional gates. I tried many but thereâs enough play in it that any traditional gate could become unlocked if pushed on.I finally bought this and it works perfect. I can fold it up and store it behind my couch and then pull it out to block off the entire stair area when my granddaughter comes over. (You can also attach it to walls but for me it works best as portable) Itâs very safe and very sturdy, and has a gate in the middle so you can open and close to use the stairs.
