Edit – I contacted the seller and explained the situation. They were very quick to respond and understood the situation. I was told they made improvements to the clock design and unfortunately I received the older style. They shipped me a new one free of charge and now both clocks are the newer version. I’m very impressed with this seller and the clock.I ordered two of these for my kids, one pink and one green. At first they seemed to be the exact same, but after setting them both up I noticed the pink unit’s clock face was extremely dim. After playing around with both of them for a bit, I noticed the green one has a dimmer button on the bottom which allows you to adjust the brightness of the clock face. When I went to do the same thing on the pink one, I noticed the button is completely different and has a different behavior. I believe the button on the pink one sets up a timer for the light ring around the outside of the clock face.It’s unfortunate because the clock is awesome. Our son loves the green one, but I’m not sure what to do with the pink one. If I get a replacement, I might get the same model back with a defective back-lit clock screen.So, I would recommend this product if there was a way of knowing which style of unit you would receive, but unfortunately I don’t think that is possible.
Helps for sleep training
Our son would wake us up hours earlier than necessary and so this light really helps him learn.

EDIT:My son still uses this product every day, and even more so now that he is in grade school; it has helped him maintain a good routine, and he feels more independent since his âbuddyâ wakes him up every morning. Now that he is in kindergarten and a little âmanâ who is absolutely opposed to help, the âreadyâ phase (when the light is yellow in the morning) has become his time to quietly get dressed for school in the morning if I am still in bed (my alarm is synced with when his clock goes green) in his routine â every morning when his alarm goes green he comes out dressed and so proud he did it all on his own. This clock is phenomenal, and I swear by it.My son helped pick out his “buddy” (he refers to his clock a “my buddy”, and it’s adorable). After he picked this one out, I read over what it said it would do and I thought it was a pretty good choice on his end. However, I did think the claim of sleep training was out there, and trust me, I have multiple kids so I can confidently say that I have tried so many things over the past almost decade when it comes to good sleeping routines and habits. Who knew a dino alarm clock for little kids was the secret?Since he has had this thing he doesn’t drag out bedtime, he no longer wakes anyone else in the house randomly throughout the night or before the sun is up, he is actually starting to connect the numbers on the clock with things that are tangible to him and it’s evident since he now notices the time himself and realizes the number has a meaning in his world, such as “It is 8 I need to brush my teeth and go to bed before my dino gets to sleep!”. Prior to this clock, if I said it was 8pm and to start getting ready for bed he would get upset. It has also helped out with calm down time (this is like time-out, but instead of punishment, it’s just me providing a safe space and time to regulate) and I have overheard my son who isn’t even 4 yet sit in his room and talk to his “buddy” about what is bothering him, and after 5-10 minutes he comes out a new kid.I would 11/10 recommend this to anyone, honestly. The first night went great and has remained consistent since!

Wow, I am blown awayMy 2.5 yr toddler transitioned into a big bed and was getting in the habit for getting up earlier and earlier and coming into our room to ask if it was morning time yetThe day this arrived we really hyped it up and got her excited about it and kept explaining âred means stay in bed, green means go find mom and dadâ and made it sound like a gameThe FIRST morning I watched at she sat at on her bed patiently watching the clock, and as soon as it turned green she yelled excitedly âItâs greeeeeen! Itâs morning time!!â And came to find us, couldnât be more happy or proud!Really happy that it works as a night light as wellI wish the sound machine was more of the classic white noise but we have a separate machine for that
Defective backlight
Unfortunately it’s defective and returns aren’t available due to the seller so buyer beware. The backlight is so bad you have to hold it at an angle just to be able to see the clock time or face. No settings fix this
Good little clock but lacking in some areas
This clock was helpful in helping my child understand bedtime and wake time – although it didn’t help him not get up or call from me. Once that phase was over, he now is very proud when he wakes up and his wake light colour is on. I wish it had a setting to choose whether or not you want the yellow light (15 minutes before wake up) to turn on. There are a lot of settings, but I have to keep the instructions nearby and look at them for some settings as I forget what button does what. The clock does not keep time well – it ends up more and more behind everyday. So I am often having to set the time ahead to be accurate. I also have trouble with the time being lit brighter while it’s in “red” sleep mode. It’s always at the dimmest, and cannot get it to stay brighter except during awake hours. I like how you can set the alarm sounds to off – as I don’t want to use that with a 3/4 year old. Lots of settings and options, even if a bit confusing. Most annoying is the lack of keeping time and always falling behind the actual time of day.
Really great with sleep training a toddler
Iâve had clocks for kids before but I like how thereâs lots of options for colour and alarm sounds on this one. Itâs been a month and our toddler only gets out of bed when the light is green and she know that when the light is red, itâs time for bed.

Look like its working for my son, only “problem” is that it dosent have the yellow light 15 minutes before waking up like they say it does. Otherwise i really like it!
It works and the kids have fun to learn when it is time to brush the teeth…it looks cute as well.
