Nice idea, could be better
Lovable, almost perfect for toddler… as the carts easily detach from one another, which of course with a toddler’s handling occurs very frequently.
Perfect for Baby
We gave this set to our baby for her first birthday, and it was exactly the sort of thing that interested her at the time, she would sit there putting various duplo pieces into the “engine room” and opening and closing it. She still brings it to us any time the pieces of the engine become disassembled so that we can fix it, but she’s closer to being able to put it back together herself. She’s not yet too interested in joinning the train cars together, so we just stored those extra pieces so we’re not stepping on them all day long. Three months later she still plays with it almost every day. She has a Duplo Airplane and Car now as well, and but I would say that she still enjoys this train engine the most. 🙂
Good for kids
It keeps the kids busy and we adults get to endulge in a little bit of childlishness by playing with them. Good stuff
Great set. Those carts are incredibly useful in building many things.
I have bought different puzzles and building blocks for my child, and Lego is simply the best.It is normally more expensive, but the price is pretty good during a sale.I found only with Lego, every piece fit precisely as they should. With other brands, every piece fit differently, some tight, some okay, some loose, and some super loose. Other brands simply don’t work if you want the build to have any structural integrity (can’t even pick them up).

A very popular gift for a 20 month old great niece ! She found it relatively easy to put together & take apart & had a good time with the blocks separately as well . Her older sisters ended up playing with the put together “train” as well!
18 month old really enjoys this toy, likes arranging the numbers.
I bought this for my son’s second birthday. He loves trains and is obsessed with learning his numbers and colors so I thought it would be the perfect gift. Overall it was a huge hit and he loves playing with it. He stacks the number blocks into one tall tower, pulls the cars around, and puts the figures in and out of the little carriage. He also just loves saying the numbers and colors when he stacks, or even just moving the pieces from one box to another one. His birthday was 2 weeks ago and he still plays with the duplo pretty much every day. I bought it slightly on sale ($16) but even full price for duplo I would say it is great value for money. You get a decent number of pieces for and the basic shapes allow for a lot of creativity. I’ve enjoyed building various structures when I play with my son. My son is mostly able to attach the bricks himself, every once in awhile he’ll have trouble and get frustrated but not that often. I was looking for more duplo for Christmas but honestly I haven’t found another set that seems to offer as much as this one does for under $20.

My children and now my grandchildren have played with duplo. This is a great set to start a toddlerâs collection. Itâs very hard wearing and can be washed in your machine. Ideal for hygiene peace of mind.
