When I first opened the box I thought that the cubes looked a little small. At 1 inch square they are certainly smaller than the traditional wooden blocks from my childhood, but as my 3 year old started playing with them they seemed like a good size for little hands. The magnets are strong and the cubes hold together nicely. The blocks come with a wide array of images including: capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers, shapes, images with labels, a few elements, a couple Greek letters and mathematical symbols. My biggest complaint and why I didn’t give it a five star rating is the faces. The capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers, shapes and mathematical symbols all have hands, feet and faces. Since the cubes are so small I feel it makes the images difficult to read. Since most three year olds haven’t been introduced to these mathematical symbols I feel it is just going to confuse them by adding these miscellaneous lines for the arms and legs.
