Like most autism or sensory specialty items, these are a bit pricy, but in my opinion they are worth the expense if you can manage it. They are very, very well made. I have no concerns about my son pulling off any parts or breaking it open. The fabrics is textured which can be great for sensory seekers.My son is 65lbs and recommended weight for a lap pad is around (and no more than) 5% of body weight, so he is kind of “between sizes”. I bought the smaller one for now as he wanted something he can also sleep with and I wanted feel safer. It’s still heavy enough for him.He puts the puppy on his belly/chest and it helps him calm down. He also uses it on his shoulders. It seems to help him concentrate when he keeps it on his lap to do his homework, or sometimes he will choose to hold onto it watching a movie. I also like that the colours are not too bright and it doesn’t look overly like a “toy”, therefore not likely to be a distraction if he brings it to school.We are both very happy with this little dog!

Perfect! Great company and great product. Unlike some other new weighted stuffies that have come out, these are much better quality as the weighted area is throughout not just in one section. It feels like holding a small baby! very comforting. The materials are amazing, velvet and soft. Very pleased with this purchased and quality for the price

Super cute our daughter takes this to school with her daily. She is very careful and gentle with it , but I could see it breaking easily if youre a little rough with it.
This is the only weighted stuffy on the market that I found that is no stuffy and all weight. This guy is so freaking cute in a funny way. I named him Cleatus. I love him, but I donât recommend for small children. I would say a mature 9 and up.I gave this product 5 stars because there have been no issues with it so far but it is heavy. And yes the fabric is technically velvet. However, this velvet has stretch to it like the kind of velvet you would use to make clothing. This is not upholstery type velvet that has no stretch and is stronger. I just donât think this fabric will hold up long term to the weight of the productâs contents if treated like a regular toy. I think this item is best used to keep on your shoulders or your lap while working to maintain a calming effect. As tempting as it might be, donât put it under your neck and fall asleep, it is too hard for that and I donât think it is made for that. I did that and got a stiff neck, feels amazing for a half hour but not all night! I love that the eyes are embroidered so there is nothing hard on him.Not only does he work for calming anxiety but for actual pain too. He can go in the freezer for a cooling effect that is much appreciated by any woman who has experienced the joy of hot flashes.
this is a great item. I ordered this for an autistic child and it’s a great item. He uses a small weighted throw most of the time but this is so much easier to put in a backpack, to carry around, and it’s adorable. It’s soft and plush, velvety. It’s a nice-looking animal, too. it’s like a heavy beanbag, floppy shape, and you can’t pose it upright, for instance, but it is a nice feeling on your lap, and comforting to use.We have the cat and the snake, too. The cat is velvety with a friendly expression. The snake is rough a little, not velvety like the cat and dog. The dog is a great texture and is adorable, though I have to say the cat is my favorite visually. The cat is sweet looking, the dog looks scared. This doesn’t bother the recipient of this item, but it is weird to have the wide eyes like this on an animal that is supposed to be comforting.Still, it looks exactly as pictured and we love it. Recommended.

This weighted plush is a great sensory tool for children, and probably many adults as well. It is very well made and very soft to touch. The polyethylene beads inside this dog add a nice amount of weight to help calm and soothe any one who holds it. These types of items are not only for a person with sensory needs- anybody can benefit from them. We use them as a homework buddy to help with concentration or as a tool when frustration levels are high. This dog is very cute, with large puppy dog eyes and big, floppy ears. In addition to the sensory benefit of the weight, the material used for the dog gives great sensory feedback. It is soft and it feels very relaxing to pet this puppy. I also like the way he cradles your arm or leg (or wherever you lay him). The beads inside the dog are fairly mobile. You can easily shift them around as needed. I am really happy with this weighted dog. I just wish toys and other items didn’t jump in price so much just because they are considered therapeutic. I really feel like everybody could benefit from these items. This would absolutely make a great gift for anybody.
