these shoes are by far the best i’ve found:1) they’re wide. they don’t squeeze my son’s toes. almost every toddler shoe i’ve tried crush my son’s toes. that just seems really bad for his feet.2) extremely lightweight.3) the rubber sole is thin enough that it bends naturally with his foot and the leather top is very flexible. other toddler shoes, the soles and top are so stiff, when my son walks in them he moves like Frankestein. with these he walks just as he does barefoot.the sole is thin though. personally, i think it’s protective enough for him to wear outside. i dont think a glass shard would puncture the sole (but i don’t want to find out). i see how other’s could think the sole isn’t protective enough.the fit was correct for the pair i received. i bought the 1.5-2 years size, and they fit my 20 month old, with a little bit of room to grow.what you see in the pic is exactly what you get. the only possible surprise is how thin the sole is. which i like, but you may not.

Surprisingly good
These fit a bit on the big side compared with others we’ve bought in the same size. Not enough to be an issue, just a little floppy when walking.They seem to be made well, and are holding up well being used on sidewalks/parks/deck. I like that the bottoms are a super flexible rubber, I was wanting something a bit more water resistant than the all-leather kind of slippers but still needed the flexibility for my baby taking her first steps, these are a good middle ground!
