Reviews

  1. Easy and lightweight
Easy to put together and store, lightweight. Good price and my 1 year old niece took a liking to it right away

  2. A little disappointed
I thought this would be a cool toy for my son, I saw lots of good reviews on here and on tiktok. Unfortunately it’s pretty hard to get the tops to spin. Even for me. But I got a great deal on it so going to keep trying!

  3. Who doesn’t like a battling top!! This toy is fun and I haven’t seen anything like it! It’s part fine motor development, part concentration, and part cause and effect! Triple play! It takes just a minute to explain how to tell the colored top pieces are set in place properly with the X up. But the tool to press the top into the upper deck works very smoothly with just a little bit of effort- you actually can’t do it backwards. It works every time. I got this for our younger GS, but big brother is intrigued too. It definitely is not for any younger than 2, as it needs a combo of some basic skills. If the child can set the top and press it down quick enough, the lower deck has a little lip around the edge, so the tops bump and crash while momentum lasts- evidently it’s very fun to watch, if you’re 2! Fun concept, sturdy quality and value- as it is solid wood with a heavy plastic tops and tool. I love this toy! Don’t hesitate.

  5. Bought this for my 1 and 1/2 year old but my 3 year old loves it as well. It is easy to use and engaging. I love the fine motor aspect and am always looking for cause and effect toys that my kids will love and can also be given a second life in my AS preschool classroom when they are done with them. 4 stars because the tops do not always hit the bottom the right way and fly off rather than spin.

  6. Most Melissa and Doug toys are well made classics that fit into a children’s toy set perfectly. I found this one to be a little weird. It seems overly complicated and big for a toy that is essentially just a spinning top. While I don’t think this toy is a “must have” in any way, I don’t think there is anything wrong with it, just that it is quite one dimensional and it may just become clutter amongst kids toys. I can’t see this being any child’s favourite toys. However, it does contain elements that many children find compelling, they love pushing things into other things, watching things fall and seeing things spin. It is also good for practising fine motor skills

  7. My 2.5 year old loves this toy. M&D products never disappoint
