The family loves this toy chest
We love this toy chest. It is the perfect size. Quite large and fits a ton of toys, but not to big to take up a lot of room in our apartment. It looks very nice and functions quite well. The hinges used are quality and they allow for very easy operation. The lid stays open in any position and never comes crashing down because the hinges hold it in place. This is a important feature because the first thing my 9 month old baby did was walk up to it, open and close the lid multiple times while taking several breaks to stick his head in the toy chest and see what is in there. This toy chest is very safe so I have no worry of it hurting my curious little baby. It is also the perfect height so our 9 month old can stand up and hold onto it, operate the lid himself, and reach a few toys that are closer to the top. The wood is a good compromise between durable hardwood and lower cost particle board. I am sure it could support children who want to sit on it and maybe a light weight adult, but it is really not designed to be used as a bench.Before this toy chest came toys were everywhere. Pilling up in corners and hard to clean up at the end of the day. We needed a toy chest so onto amazon I went. I have a few other of Melissa and Doug’s products and they are all made very well and our baby has loved them. I was happy to see that they make a toy chest so I have something to contain all the toys they sold me. I think this toy chest is a good price point and uses durable enough materials to last a long time. It is also nice that it comes in different colors so that you can match your decor. Building this toy chest was very easy, anyone could do it. It only used one tool and took about 20 minutes or less. After I built it I noticed that the lid did not align well and it would crash into the side of the toy chest when I closed it. So I loosened the screws, realigned the lid and then fastened the screws. Problem was solved. It also mentions in the instructions to wait until it is full assembled before you fully fasten all the screws. I found that it was important to have the chest on level ground when fastening all the screws and not have two legs on and two legs off the carpet like I did at first.I would recommend this to anyone who has a baby or child with a lot of toys. It is really nice to have a place to put all the toys at the end of the day and also control how many toys are out in the play area at one time. I look forward to using the toy chest as a teaching tool to help my son learn how to tidy up after himself. Excellent toy chest!
This is a great chest for my 3 year old’s toys. It holds alot of toys. It is well made and good quality. Easy to put together if you follow the instructions. Eg. Not tightening all the bolts at first and angling the lid when putting the safety arms on. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to put together by myself while 6 months pregnant.
Itâs functional and looks good
It was easy to assemble and itâs quite sturdy.

I am the absolute worst at building shipped furniture, but the instructions were amazing, easy to understand and building it was a slice. Didn’t get confused or make any mistakes which is a first for me me this kind of stuff.It is perfect in my son’s play area, high quality wood and the cover is held up by a mechanism so it doesn’t slam down on babies fingers. Delivery was very quick and packaging easy to open and remove pieces.One of my favourite purchases of late, and there have been a few 🙂
Quality constuction
Beautifully made toy box for our Granddaughter for Christmas toys. She is 11 months Christmas Day. My husband put it together very quickly and it is very well made. Bought the blond colour and it looks great the her white furniture in bedroom. It is a 4 inches wider than more toy boxes so it holds a lot of toy. Very happy with it.

Good quality but impossible to align
I really want to love this product but I hate hate hate the design of it to get it properly assembled. For context, assembling complex furniture is not new to me. I assemble all sorts of furniture large and small, simple and complex so donât understand for the life of me why a set of nuts in this item will not screw in properly.Instructions were followed to a t. The number 1 screws that join the sides are the issue. I wanted to love this so much and bought 2 of them both with the same issue.If I werenât heavily pregnant, I would uncouple and return these things because now I have 2 screws on each box poking out which are hazards for my kid. I may just change my mind and do a return.Just poor design for a beautiful product.I have rated one star because this should be coupled in 30 mins to an hour but Iâve spent upwards of 5 hours trying to de-couple, re-align, re-couple with no success. Unacceptable.
Safe for kids, good quality !
The quality is great for the price, but more importantly, is that it has safety hinges – the lid stays where you place it! The front also has a 1-2â opening into the toy box under the lid to open it.These two features really are great so your children wont squish their fingers in it!
Really nice aesthetics. Pairs well with her pine ikea bedroom set. I built the toy box quickly with no issues and easy instructions. I hope it lasts a lifetime. She can open and close it herself and loves to sit inside and play with her toys. It holds a ton of toys! Itâs sturdy and has a nice weight to it.
If youâre on the fence, just buy it! This toy box is made with real wood, which is hard to come by these days. Itâs important to note that the bottom of it seems more like a particle board, but regardless, itâs incredibly sturdy, and that is the only part of it that isnât real wood. Itâs a very spacious toy box with a simple design. It is also easy to assemble. I assembled it on my own with my 9 month old crawling all over me and the box lol. The value is on par with the price. I am honestly thoroughly impressed.
I am very impressed with this toy box. It looks very nice quality and machined very well. The parts were all protected with soft fiber plastic and also styrofoam. The screws were all packaged and numbered for easy reading. It took about 10 minutes to put it together with my son impatiently waiting by my side. It fits perfectly into the cubby in his bedroom. The cost of this is priced so well that when I saw it I could not believe it was in the same price range as MDF or particleboard boxes. I would buy it again but I really don’t think I will need to. My son will outgrow it before it falls apart. Side note: This is coming from a person who built cabinets for 47 years.
Love this toy chest. The size is perfect and it comes with a safety feature, so the lid doesnât slam down. The assembly was quick and easy and my husband put it together in 10 minutes. Great quality and my toddler uses it with ease.
