A joy to easily assemble such a good quality, attractive item
I wanted something inexpensive, good quality and attractive to store household cleaning materials and a couple of pails in one of my bathrooms. Bathroom cabinets were either unattractive or too expensive. Thinking outside the box, I stumbled upon this toy chest. It is perfect! I put it together very quickly and without any problems. It is extremely well made and the assembly instructions were very straightforward. Even the packaging was superior. Very good value for money.

Beautiful, but too much Styrofoam Packaging
I bought this for our daughter’s toy box and it was really easy to put together!It seems spacious and sturdy, I can’t wait to paint and it fill it with toys.My one concern, is I urge the company to look at sustainable packaging options. I filled an entire black garbage bag with styrofoam packaging, just from this one order. I’d urge them to look at recyclable options, perhaps molded/shaped cardboard or wrapping the pieces in soft cardboard fibers instead of styrofoam sheets.
Great bang for your buck
Love the slow/ forced closed lid so my littles fingers are less likely to be caught. easy to assemble, very sturdy can be used as dual bench/ toy chest. Fits nursery really well! Worth every penny!!
Perfect Box!
The color is perfect and the design is perfect. The design is modern with a lot of thought behind safety measures – the lid is soft closing! Excellent!I had a flaw on the first box but the customer service at Melissa and Doug is SO excellent that they promptly replaced my unit.Their toys and service as first rate!
Lovely toy chest
I’m so glad I bought this. All the loose little toys scattered around the whole livingroom that was driving me crazy is now kept neatly in one nice sized toy chest. Very easy to put together. Love that the lid stays open no matter how small or wide you open it, so its super safe for my little girl. A bit pricey but compared to other places I’ve seen this at, its quite a steal. Definitely recommend if you’re a neat freak like myself.
Product defects on almost every piece
This toy box was a gift for our one year old grandson. The first order came with paint touch ups in three places with a paint colour that did not match the primary product. There were a number of splits on the wood and a few of the pre-drilled holes were not in the correct places. They were misaligned from the other holes intended for the small screws. In addition, the plastic housing over both hinges was broken. Clearly the quality control in the factory was absent. We advised Amazon and they supplied a replacement quickly. The replacement had some similar problems and I ended up taking a few pieces from the first order and a few pieces from the second order in order to end up with a âreasonablyâ ok product. It is not 100% ok. I am surprised. Doug and Melissaâs products are normally high quality. This one obviously got past the QC staff. Do not purchase this item unless it is significantly discounted and you are willing to accept a low quality product.
Spacious and safe, durability of finish could be improved
This toy chest was very easy to put together. The hinges on the lid prevent the lid from slamming down onto your hands, and the inside seems fairly spacious. I did notice while putting it together that the finish seems to mark up easily though. It’s the kind of transfer mark that shows up as grey/black and is able to be mostly (but not completely) cleaned away. I could see this being a problem as our little one becomes more mobile and is tossing toys in and out of the bin. Otherwise it seems like a great product!
LOVE this toy chest. It is very sleek looking and the overall design is beautiful to where it could fit into any room whether it be boy, girl, or toy room. It was easy to assemble and itâs very sturdy with it being wood. It is very easy to use since the top does not shut on its own (as pictured) we can keep SO many stuffed animals in there as shown in the pictures I provided. Its function is straight forward. We use it for toys but it could easily be used for blankets or other items as well since the storage capacity is high. I would recommend.
This toy box is very sturdy. And very functional. It holds a lot of toys. It’s easy to clean. It’s white, but even if something gets of it. It’s cleans right off. Our kids sit on this. And sometimes we caught them standing on it. And it has held up great. Definitely would buy again.
Does what was intended which is to contain all the toys. Can put blankets and stuff animals on top which is nice and can stay open itself. Only reason Iâm knocking it down one star is while it was easy to put together two holes were the incorrect size so had to substitute a couple other screws for itâs place therefore the back thatâs mainly decor had to only have one screw in each size. And the hinges part didnât align correctly so to get it to work you had to split the wood
