Not a good monitor at all. Takes me at least a half hour every night while I am trying to get baby asleep to get it working properly. Freezes, screen is black and or the LED flashes red and if left it will beep at random times at night and wake everyone up.

I bought this monitor 4 years ago and today I was looking to get another compatible camera to add for security reasons. Now that the kids are older and we use the camera primarily as security, I decided it is time to add another camera and sign up for full time monitoring plan with cloud storage. I was a bit surprised by all the bad reviews. I’ll admit I too have had some trouble with this monitor. There were times it wouldn’t connect to wifi or when it did it wouldn’t stay connected. Then I added a wifi extender in the same room as the camera and it’s been smooth sailing since. I added the extender because anyone using a device on that side of the house would have trouble with the connection, so it wasn’t just for the camera. So I’m wondering if those reviews I read that had the same issues I did are because of their wifi or interference. All I know is once I added a wifi extender, I haven’t had a problem. The camera shows a nice clear picture on my phone. The infrared night viewing isn’t the best picture in an empty room, but if a person is in the room, you can see them pretty well which is the point. I like that I can quickly bring it up on my phone from anywhere and I really enjoy freaking out my kids with the two way talk feature!Anyway, with a good wifi signal, this monitor will work as described. Works great for a baby monitor since it includes a viewing monitor so you don’t have to rely on your phone at home, but you can still look in on your baby if you’re out somewhere by using your phone. Using for security purposes, I can’t really say much about it because I haven’t signed up for yearly monitoring yet. I use the app to alert me of noise or motion between certain hours where there should be no motion or noise and so far it does the job. I’m sure there are lots of options for security monitoring, but if you already have this product because you are using it as a baby monitor, it only makes sense to take advantage of the security monitoring available. There are 3 plans available starting at $30 per year. I’ll be choosing a plan that costs $100 a year which doesn’t seem like much to me. It’s a nice camera with some great features and it can be wall mounted. Don’t let the bad reviews deter you. As I said before, it’s likely a bad wifi connection.
