Works great for my purposes as a backdrop
Iâm an actor, and Iâve been searching for a while for a new backdrop for my self tapes. The âproperâ photography or video ones are pretty expensive at the size I needed, so on a whim I decided to look at curtains. These work so well! Theyâre a perfect grey-blue, and theyâre nice and heavy so my lights donât do anything weird to them on film. I added Velcro to keep them together and voila! A backdrop that is almost 10ftx10ft, which I needed to fill my space, at a fraction of the cost for a photography backdrop of this size.
Nice material and does block light out.
Nothing really to dislike. Steamed the folding pressed wrinkles and they hang nicely. Solid color looks great with new printed duvet cover. Good weight. Easy to hand. Impressed with the duo hanging options. Stylish and functional. Won’t try to wash them, they seem like they could easily snag if handled too much. Hand held steamer for clothes worked well.
Great curtain
I purchased this curtain for our bedroom to filter out street lighting, which it does really well. The curtain is well made. I used clips to attach it to rings on an existing curtain rod, which was easy to accomplish. The curtain will not block direct sunlight, but will greatly reduce it. In my experience, however, it effectively blocks out street lighting at night time.
Excellent Curtains – Great Quality!
Really love these curtains, we got them for my daughter’s room so that we could black it out during nap time. We have horizontal blinds in the room already but they weren’t making the room dark enough. Even if the horizontal blinds are open, these curtains make the room super dark when pulled across. The material quality is really really nice, better than I was expecting. Feels very luxurious and thick. About to buy a second set for my master bedroom because we like them so much. Excellent value and room darkening!
I’m not sure if these are actually black out curtains, but they are amazingly effective at blocking the light! I was worried about buying curtains without seeing the fabric in person, especially since some of the other reviews say that they are too sheer, but with this particular colour, I am super pleased. I don’t find they are sheer at all, even in very bright light!The back of the fabric is the same colour as the front and the hems are evenly sewn. Both panels are the same length, which is something I’ve had problems finding before.I had to buy four panels to cover the width of the living room window last time and they drove me nuts (every panel was a slightly different length and colour, despite the products being identical) – this two panel set covers it perfectly. I washed them out of the package as suggested and put them in the dryer on low, which eliminated most of the wrinkles; the rest fell away once they were hung. I love the full pocket option, which is how I hung mine.The microfiber fabric might catch if you have children or pets constantly tugging on them, but for my purposes – just gently taking them out of the tie backs at night and putting them up in the morning – they have been amazing. I love the warm, rich colour. Can’t believe how great they look, given the price!
Good value for the price
They are not full black out, but they do block a lot of light compared to cotton or linen curtains. They don’t feel great to the touch, and the texture is so subtle that they look smooth from a distance. I wanted something that looked more like a natural material. I purchased the greyish-white colour, and they are actually a light/dove grey, so not white at all. But even though the colour was off and the finish isn’t ideal, I will probably keep them as they are practical.
Great blackout quality
I’ve had many blackout curtains and these put all of those to shame. A medium-weight material that provides excellent blackout, they also look nice and hang well. Some people comment on the amount of blackout, saying it’s not total … well, when you look through the pictures for each colour, it tells you exactly what percent of light you can expect them to block out. I find it to be very accurate as I own many different colours that range in coverage. If it says 65% or 85% or 95%, I would say they’re probably estimating a tad low (I get no light through a 95% set). Also, unless it is 100% secured to the frame, light WILL leak around the edges. That’s what light does: it fills the darkness. However, that’s not the fault of the curtains … that’s nature. The point of the curtains is so light doesn’t come THROUGH them. And these do that extremely well, as in, sleep in the middle of the day well. Happy dreams!
First off, we got these because they hold up really well with our cat who tends to grab them when he falls out the window. The second reason we got them is because their thickness blocks both the heat and the cold. The third reason we got them is because the color is true to the photo and matches our floor.They block out light really well too and while they are heavy they arenât so heavy that it weighs down the curtain rod. They have a really great price point too for the amount of curtain you are buying.
I used these when I had an old house and the windows needed to be replaced. They worked well with keeping cold out in winter and heat out in the summer. It was an added perk that they also kept light out too. They also looked good. I put more decorative curtains over the top of them and they complimented well.
