North States Industries State IND 8666 Grey 6 Panel Play Gate, White

Very sturdy and good size!
Although it was a little hard to join it together at first, it is a very sturdy play yard. My one-year-old granddaughter is very strong and cannot get out! Nice that it will fold up when not in use! Would recommend! Thanks!
Awesome product
One of the best things we ever bought for corralling our twin boys as toddlers. Seriously necessary for sane play times. Fast forward a few years later and it works for the new puppy. I remember laughing at a review 10 years ago that complained about it being too high to step over. But now I am older and I get it. Some near disasters with that. But itâs not the gateâs fault! Actually, itâs an incentive to get in good shape. I am avoiding my work by writing this review.
Sturdy but hard to set up/take apart
Very sturdy. My son can’t move it around on the carpet. I bought two and put them together to keep my son away from the dog. It’s very hard to get apart. I had to get help from my dad and brother. The picture on the box is of a mom opening it with ease like a gate. There’s no gate and she must me super mom because it’s definitely not easy to open. I don’t think the model with the gate is worth he extra money. I just step over the play yard to get inside. Gets the job done I’m very happy with it.
Good product
So far so good. Sturdy, a good amount of play space. The only thing is I wish the panels were easier to take apart to have more of a âgateâ type access in and out. But all in all Iâm happy with it.
High quality baby gate
We assembled it for my sonâs playpen. Yes itâs not sturdy when used this way but still gets the job done. Keeps my little boy inside while heâs playing and he cant climb up from the small holes. Purchased it with wall attachment. We can still remove the gate and use it anywhere and everywhere. Comes with a lock strap for packing and traveling. My sister bought this kind already for my nieces so I already know the quality is durable and great.
Perfect for the job of pet and/or small child retention.
Great construction with very easy assembly. Ours was purchased for a pet dog retention for a Yorkie puppy. It is the second one we have as we also have the identical product in our basement for the same purpose. We are very happy with the product and our purchase.
Not the safest baby enclosure if you don’t have the door
I really love the height and the size once you add the extension. The real problem with this is once you add the extension you sometimes have to climb in to get the baby out. 3 different people in our family tripped getting in/out which brought the entire enclosure down. We were very lucky all three times that the enclosure did not hit the baby and that we were not holding the baby at the time. My daughter in law went straight down and did hit the ground hard but she was ok. I fell inside onto the toys. When we purchased the enclosure we could not get the extension with the door. It was on backorder. If you get this enclosure do not purchase without getting the door as well. I see now you can purchase the enclosure with the door. You are better off doing that and then purchasing the extensions. This is a really great enclosure and the baby loved it but I really feel they should not sell it without a door. Also, I would not suggest this if the baby is climbing to stand. If you use it outside where it can be secured it into the ground that would work better for a baby beyond the crawling stage. The reason for 3 rating for sturdiness is due to it not having a door and 3 for value is because you are better off paying more for the one with the door.
Versatile!
I originally bought this to use in a daycare setting. I teach a music program at a couple of daycares and have found that this item was useful in creating a separate area within a very distracting room . It’s a bit on the large size for carrying, but it does the job. I’ve also found it useful in my home for when my kid’s puppies come to visit. The gate forms to where you need it. Soon, my grandson will be toddling around and I’m sure I will be using it for him too. I’m glad that you can add additional panels to it as well–which is what I did. Thumbs up!
Superyard XT is an excellent product for child containment, providing exactly the protection a parent desires for outdoor play. It isn’t a very large gate- even when fully extended, it covers an area only about the size of a medium to large playpen. But it offers enough space to keep one or two kids (and their toys) safely occupied.Superyard XT holds up well and I have left it outside during harsh weather conditions with no problems. It is very easy to clean and to transport. The panels fold together and the carrying strap makes the job even easier still. The panels do not fold completely flat- they do have some thickness, so don’t expect this gate to fit into a tiny space. It needs at least enough space to accommodate the thickness when all six panels are folded together. The panels on Superyard XT are not very tall and because of this, the gate is good only for toddlers and other kids up to about two years of age. As children get older, they will be able to climb over the walls of the gate or possibly knock it down, making it impractical as a containment device. But the shorter height has one clear advantage: It makes it easy for parents because it can be stepped over. There is no need to dissemble the panels or open the gate to get inside.Superyard XT is solid and sturdy but consumers must be careful to position it properly. The gates cannot be placed in a straight line because the design of the gate diminishes its effectiveness when used in this manner. Each one of the joints has to be bent in order to become sturdy. Placed in a straight line, the gate cannot resist pressure and it will fall over with the slightest push. The only complaint I have with Superyard XT is the small space it covers. With the limited space, some people may have difficulty fitting even two kids inside the closed walls of the gate. Depending on the number of toys your kids have, one child might be all that will fit. This is why I strongly recommend purchasing an extension kit. This kit consists of two additional panels and while this doesn’t sound like much, it increases the area substantially and it makes the gate capable of handling two kids with no problems.Overall, Superyard XT is a very good gate for child or pet containment. I brushed it off when I first saw it because it seemed like another useless product with limited use, marketed solely to take our hard earned money. But now that I own the Superyard, I cannot imagine life without this containment device. It offers kids a place to play where they are well- protected, giving parents some much needed peace of mind.
Purchased to use stretched out, not as a octagon to keep our dog on the deck. Works well but you need to zigzag it slightly for it to stand in a “straight” line. It is not easy to removed one section from the next, it requires a lot of hand strength. My husband has difficult “squeezing” the releases – we just gave up and release the bungie cord I use to attach it to our deck railing when we need a “gate” to walk through, or we just step over it. I also use the bungie cords because if it is a windy day it will blow over in the stretched out position. Even though I am not using it as a play area for children, as a grandmother of 6 I would recommend it. A child would have a safe enclosed, sturdy area to play in keeping the child in and dogs or other critters out.
I have two of these (for a total of six individual two panel extensions) and with three children all born within two and a half years I NEEDED these! Currently, I use one set for a separate play area for my youngest who isn’t yet able to keep up with his older two siblings and one set to block off the television and a doorway. You can use a two panel extension in a V shape in front of items or doorways to let little ones know not to go there. My kids have the ability to move these out of the way, so I don’t use them for more dangerous areas like stairs, but they know they aren’t supposed to and don’t bother them. This allows me to keep the kiddos in one or two rooms at a time so I can keep an eye on them and they are not free to roam the house without my supervision. No matter how well you “baby proof” your home, there are always dangers and if you are not able to closely supervise them always, then this sort of thing is extremely helpful. Also, we use these out in the yard to keep the little kiddos from running out into the road or into the woods. Two things to keep in mind: 1. The crosshatch design does allow kids to climb so keep an eye on them when they start climbing and 2. There is no door in this system so be prepared to step over the side if baby is too far to just reach down and pick up. There is another system that is metal and doesn’t have these two problems, but it is far far more expensive and I wouldn’t take it outside. I have also heard that the metal one doesn’t allow for the easy use of the panels separate from the system as this one does. My son used this superyard to learn to stand. When set up properly it is very sturdy and a child is able to pull up on it and hold on without problem.
I live on a corner lot – the garage is in my ‘backyard’ and driveway cuts it in half. I have a 5′ wooden fence and shrubs the full length and wanted to gate the driveway off so that my two dogs could go out and play without being on a leash. I bought (2) sections of this fencing and have only used 10 sections. For the hinge ends, I ran 5′ of conduit into the ground by both fence posts. The one end was easy to attach. I used oversize snap locks . The other end; I drilled holes through the hinge of the gate and ran a 5’16th stainless steel rod through the holes. I used nuts and fender washers to adjust the height, then connected the rod to the conduit using snap clips. The gate is wonderful. I make sure there is a decent fan fold and they have jumped on it a lot and cannot tip it. I had an incident the other day where someone walking a German Shepherd let his dog go on trying to attack my dogs. This fence did the job to keep out the offender until I could get my pets back up on the deck. For reference; my my dogs weigh 30 lbs and 12 lbs. Any larger dog my require securing into the ground in the center for long time use.It is easy to unlatch and fold back when I need to go somewhere in the car.I hope the company reads this, for this item could be easily sold as a pet gate if they could come up with an attachment kit for the ends.
Purchased this because my super active infant son is not content playing in a traditional Pack n Play, as space is so limited. He needs room to crawl or he feels too confined. We have hard wood floors so I purchased a set of interlocking foam mats and placed the Superyard on top of it, to give him some cushion when he falls. Just add some of his favorite toys and he is content to entertain himself long enough for me to get ready for work in the morning and I don’t have to worry about where he’s crawled off to and if he’s somewhere he shouldn’t be. We’ve affectionately dubbed it his “cage.” :)I didn’t imagine that setup would be challenging, since it arrives with the panels stacked and interlocked (as shown in the picture) but the joints are a little stiff so it takes a little room and maneuvering to get it into place. It also takes a few tries to latch the panel ends together to create the octagon. After a few times, it was a breeze…I just needed to get the hang of it. Definitely adhere the sticky foam “feet” to the bottom, it helps with gripping to the floor. I will consider purchasing the extra panel set to extend the size as he gets older.
