These are perfect for my baby to learn her numbers
This puzzle has turned into a game in my classroom. I have used it to help third grade elementary students to build their understanding of counting numbers, as well as the written word form of the number. Once students understand how to connect the puzzles, I challenge them to see who can build the most. They love playing with these. I like that they do not fit if the number is incorrect, so the student knows they need to recount the images. My only complaint is that the pieces do not fit back in the box unless they are all put together. This is too time consuming so one needs to find a different way to store them or be okay with the box staying open.
Number items like this are so important for earlier learners to really understand the concept of count and quantity. Often early learners are prompted to memorize the sequence of numbers. They are told 2 represents more than one and so on, and they are taught to identify a number on sight. It is much harder to teach the concept of matching a quantity of items to their representative number and little puzzles like this help. They come with two ends, a picture of a quantity of items and then on the other end the representative numeral. You can mix the pieces and let your little sort it out. I would say my only complaint is there is no bag inside the box to help keep them sorted out.
The number cards have 1-30 on them with double side cute pictures with related number figures on them. Very attractive to little kids and make them interested in counting simple number through the pictures. The cards are thick and sturdy, good and smooth for hand touch. The number and figure is not just standard cut but has specific shape to make sure the correct match. The set makes beginning math teaching easier.
The puzzle for numbers matching to 30 has animals, flowers, and fruits in a variety of options. I had not known they were double sided, for example, the number 1 card, has one bear on one side, and then on the opposite side, one tiger. The matching size has the digit one side and then the word on the opposite.I am a little sad there isn’t a way to just flip and use preferred side on the word or digit and make it universally read, but that is not the point of this puzzle. The pictures are crisp and brightly colored. There is plenty of spacing to count with 1:1 correspondence.
