Description

The all-time favorite, now in a sturdy board book.

There are 28.9 million children under the age of 5 in the U.S. and all of them will need to be toilet trained. This classic book has already helped millions of parents get their children through a life milestone with ease and some entertainment too.

With Once Upon a Potty, a parent reads the book to their child or allows the child to read it while on the potty. Not surprisingly, the book takes some wear. This new board book edition will withstand such heavy use and survive the occasional water spill too.

This is THE potty training book. It has it all, bright graphics, simple language, fun story and an anatomically correct hero. With an edition for each gender, the book relates directly to the child, making the potty-training process relatable and easy to understand.

Reviews

  1. Great book for toilet training
Used this for my kids and now my grandson. Time will tell.

  2. Love this book!
My brother and I had a version of this same book as children, and when I seen it on Amazon it was a must have for my son. And he absolutely loves it!! Reads in numerous times a day and says “yuck” at all the poop and pee shots, lol. Well made book and a good size.

  3. Awesome lil book
I like that it shows the poop! My son says byeeee to the poop with the book. Definitely helped on the potty training process

  4. Cute potty training book
My toddler loves this book, and we think it helped him understand potty training a little easier. It has some outdated verbiage, but we just improvised as we read.

  5. Good but but a little too many words
My only issue with this book is it constantly repeats who is speaking (Joshua’s mother). For example it continuously says “and l, Joshua’s mother… blah blah”. And I mean it’s on pretty much every page. The content in the book is actually really good but the amount of filler sentences that refer to who is speaking makes it a mouth full. I’ve learned to skip that stuff as this many filler words just make it a bit boring and hard to keep the little ones attention.

  6. This was a gift and was greatly appreciated by the person receiving it
    This product was a gift.

  7. Cute book
Very cute illustrations and story. I like that the body parts are labelled and a simple explanation is given. May be a bit difficult for some kids to understand.

  8. Good book for potty training a boy
A cute book, people that have seen it in my home get a good laugh from it too. My 2 year old enjoys when I read it to him and definitely picks up on the potty training aspect of it.

  9. It captures the childs attention in a real positive way

  10. This book seems nice. I’ve read it to baby (14 months) a couple of times. Hopefully he’ll get the message eventually! There are a few bits of unnecessary info that could have been left out. Also things like, “…I, Joshua’s mother…” could’ve been changed to “mommy” or some similar variation.Overall, I think it gives a clear message.I do point to baby, myself or the potty, as required, while reading the book in the hope that he associates the story with reality.Wish me luck!

  11. A classic. My little boy really got involved in the story and refers to it now as he learns to use his potty – ‘I’m doing it like Joshua!’. It sets out clearly, specifically and with humour the process of transitioning from nappies to a potty.

  12. My son related so well to this book! Love that it’s specific to boys

  13. Solid card pages but still quite a few (often solid books are a bit short for my liking), this book is really made for kids hands! The book is explicit (for once): you see wee and poo. This was great for my boy because you keep saying it in other books or when pointing at the potty but it always has to be imagined… and I wasn’t sure my boy was getting it. It was also good to have all the anatomy as my boy was confused thinking everything came out of his willy (I hadn’t thought of making sure he understood it didn’t, but there you go, live and learn!)The pictures aren’t “pretty” in my opinion but they are functional and that’s all you need. The wording is sometimes surprising “pee pee” for a willy and “poo poo” for plain old poo but you can easily replace them with words you feel happier with, in fact someting similar is said on the first page in the note to the parents. All in all, I strongly recommend this book!
