These are great to have in the kitchen. Have collected a series of these for storage of various ingredients. They are so easy to use, clean and store. Eliminates bulky boxed items and keeps things airtight when not in use. Helps keep the kitchen cupboards neat, tidy and organized and very accessible. Definately would recommend to those appreciating a well organized set up, while keeping things as fresh as possible.
Switching out to these!
These are awesome. They are more pricy then other options but I feel they are worth it. You can see the contents inside. They seal very tight but open with a light push on the buttons. I’m seriously switching out all my stored dried goods into these. They come in different sizes and shapes. I’m using the square shape so they fit snuggly in the cupboards.
Nice looking
Not sure how airtight these are. We use it to store our coffee, but when it gets near the bottom, the coffee is not still fresh. Also a bit nit picky to clean the lid. Still like it though. Might be better for other dry goods.
I keep spaghetti in it!
I don’t know what to say other than it holds spaghetti or other things if you want. I wish it had a pour spout that measures out servings, but I’m okay that it doesn’t. Good suction. No weevils for me!
GREAT CONTAINERS BUT
I use these for all my baking products for years. I recently discovered that these are NOT 100% air tight.To solve this problem I started putting a piece of Saran Wrap over the opening before add the lid and pushing the ‘seal’ tight button on the lid. This seems to have solved the problem.How did I discover these are not air tight? I kept finding that my Sunmaid Raisins were drying out in the OXO container. I had to assume this problem would be the same for all the other baking ingredients I keep in these containers. I now put a piece of Saran (or Glad) wrap over the opening then add the lid and push to pop button on top.
Not good over time
Had bought it to help keep my chips fresher then doing the bag roll and clipping it.Washed it (hand wash, can only diswasher top rack for the lids) and once dried, then put chips into it, to help keep fresher then just clipping the bag.After about a month, noticed the chips tasted stale. Found you could just easily slip the lid off, even though it was in lock setting.My other one, never put any food in it, and washed it too, the lid is still sealed strong.But some reason once you do put food it, the lid slowly looses it seal?Design flaw or did I get sent “lemon products” for their inproper rubber seals?So after two bags of chips going bad, just clip them and these thing just sit empty on my shelve as dust collectors now, even when I didn’t use 1 of the 3, the trust is gone.
Upgraded
I like these containers a lot so it was a little disappointing to see a couple of my older ones lose the seal on the lid making the lids slip off when the vacuum lid was engaged.These new Good Grips have some changes which I assume should address the above issue but only time will tell.I still like the older version but definitely appreciate the upgraded vacuum seal of the new ones though I really do like the ease of disassembly for cleaning more on the older version (which might be the issue the new ones had with losing suction).The new version has a more streamlined lid and the silicone liner encases the entire bottom of the lid as opposed to the older version where only the edges were encased in silicone.As with the older version I like the ease of use; that I can see what is stored inside; they are easily washable; and the range of sizes available. Some people think them pricey but if you factor in the longevity of the item and that they are easily repurpose-able (storage for arts and craft items; sewing notions; Lego; plants) then they are well worth the cost of getting a full set (which, in my case is a dozen of various sizes).
This airtight food storage container is absolutely perfect! The big, square design is super practical, and itâs so easy to use. It keeps everything fresh and airtight just as promised, and I love how sleek it looks on my countertop. Itâs a great combination of functionality and styleâI couldnât be happier with it!
I have several of these containers, and they are excellent for storing dry food items. I used to get them at a store in person, but with so many closures I have had to start buying them from Amazon. For this one, the first I bought had a broken top, and the second had a missing top. The return process directs you to Oxo, who patiently told me that there is nothing they can do and you have to call Amazon on the phone (good luck with that) to get a refund. Oxo also said Amazon is notorious for sending these containers out with missing or broken lids. So beware!
Love these OXO snap containers. Keeps everything fresh and secure. Easy to measure from and refill. I’m using this one for my collagen powder to keep by the coffee maker. Much nicer than the big blue container it comes in.
