Retracts so that it is out of the way! Locks in place to keep baby safe or pets out. Older kid friendly , installed with screws into my wooden railings and it’s solid

I have a puppy that I want to keep downstairs unless we’re upstairs. The cat box is upstairs!I was using a traditional baby gate for a while, but it was getting annoying removing it and replacing it several times a day. And despite the rubber grips on the sides, it was really doing a number on my walls!I saw this, and thought it would be sooo much easier! And it certainly is easier! The cat can jump over easily, but the dog can’t. It’s very quick and easy to slide it into place, etc. I’ve even patched and painted the walls where the traditional gate ruined them.I would NOT use this as a *baby gate* for a human child. There’s a fair amount of give in the fabric, even locked. I would say it’s not safe at all as a *baby gate*. But as a *puppy gate* it’s good.Comes with either stick on, or screw in hooks. The screw hooks would look nice, as they are a lot smaller. But I didn’t want to fuss with finding studs and putting screws! So I opted for the more bulky peel and stick. It’s a bit uglier, but those things aren’t moving! Even with the cat using the mesh top as his personal catapult (lol), they won’t budge. (The mesh fabric kinda looks warped at the top because if the catapulting, but it stays in place and is surviving his cantics – cat antics – lol).

Works in theory, but I ordered twice and my dogs broke them both times
Product itself is great. But, I have three dogs one small frenchie and she is able to squeeze under it because it doesnât get super tight, there is a bit of a slack. Enough for her to get under. My other small dog and medium size dog, easily broke it by jumping up on the side/top with their paws. So for me, it didnât work, tried and failed twice.

Stopped the monster
Was simple to set up with the sticky tape but was accidentally tested by an adult and the tape held the wall so well that the damage it did I should have just used screws
Used as Pet gate
Used as a pet gate, the retracting / locking feature is nice. The top/bottom of the screen does not stay rigid when pressed on. So if an animal or child does press on this, the effective height of the gate will shorten by about 1/3. In my case smaller animals will lift up the bottom of the mesh and go under, even when fully locked/tight. Larger animals will press down on the top of the gate and can climb over. Due to the lack of overall rigidness / sturdyness in the gate (even when locked) wouldn’t recommend this for kids when safety is a concern.1 month later update – seller has provided after sales support to rectify the issue based on review. I’ve updated from 2 to 4 stars. In my case the gate didn’t meet my needs, however after sales support did read my review and provided a gesture of good will to make me whole.
