Grows with child’s puzzle skills, but some care in handling required
There is so much to like about this transportation jigsaw puzzle. The design is kid-friendly, the printing is crisp and colourful, and the pieces go together well.Altogether, this is quite a large puzzle for toddlers, but it’s ingeniously designed to be a puzzle that will grow as a child’s puzzle skills grow, taking them from their first introduction to jigsaw puzzles (starting with the 2-piece car puzzle and working up to the 5-piece fire truck puzzle) and increasing the difficulty in several steps—working up to doing all four vehicle puzzles at the same time, then adding to the background put together by an adult, then looking for and assembling the background (“Look for sky pieces” to put the top together, “road pieces” to do the bottom), then doing the whole puzzle on their own.So far, an easy 5-star rating. Unfortunately, the cardboard should be thicker to stay together when moving the completed vehicles into the background, and to withstand toddler hands, repeated handling, and, as it turns out, storage in the box—two pieces were bent out of the box, one to the point of having a permanent wrinkle in it. So, some care in handling is needed.
A Worthwhile Purchase depending on Price.
This is a neat puzzle for a child. The pieces are nice and big. There is a picture on the box as well showing the end result. Depending on the age of the child it is still going to require the help of an adult, at least the firs time. The pieces aren’t really thick but they are not paper thin. They go together fairly easily.
