Great Suction Cup Sensory Toy! ð
This is such a fun, attractive and vibrant sensory toy for my other beautiful Niece who’s currently 3 months old. As she grows she’ll be able to thoroughly enjoy while honing her fine motor skills(strengthening fingers dexterity, improving hand-eye coordination and counting skills) in the process. It arrived in an appealing box with both the cute duck and suction base Individually wrapped carefully, keep in mind batteries aren’t included(2 x 1.5V AAA batteries required). It’s made of durable quality plastics and soft food-grade silicone so rest assured all the edges are smooth and safe(BPA free, non-toxic and phthalate-free) for little hands to hold. The suction works ideally well on smooth surfaces like windows, ceramic tiles, highchair trays, etc. but anything slightly textured will result in a fall or topple over. I recommend wetting the suction cup to maximize the suction power to create better long-lasting stability. I also like that there’s a convenient little tab on the suction cup to make removing easy. I personally like that the “French Duck”(⤠the beret lol) is removable so toddlers have the option of playing with it fully assembled or separately. The spring/stretching neck creates an amusing squeaky sound that will certainly put a smile on their faces along with the beautiful bright colours, various textures, slidable/rollable beads and 4 buttons that teaches as well as play multiple interesting sounds and cheerful music. The power button(quick press to turn ON) is multifunctional so each time you press quickly you’ll change the sound/music of buttons 1-3 and a long press is OFF.Overall good and safe quality. It’ll definitely keep little ones entertained during car rides and mealtimes.
Frustrating battery compartment…
The concept and build of this tabletop toy is admittedly pretty good, which makes my awful experience with the battery compartment all the more frustrating.I attempted to remove the tiny screw as instructed, but it would only lift itself out up to a certain point. I spent a decent 15 minutes trying to remove this screw, and I ultimately had to hold the screwdriver at a ridiculous angle to get it to catch again — which in turn stripped the screw by the end of it.With the screw finally removed, an equally tiny spring came out with it (I’m not sure if this was by design or not), but either way the battery cover could still not be removed. I looked for an additional screw that I might have missed, but I’m fairly sure it was just the one. No combination of pulling & turning would remove the compartment lid, and even forcing a butter knife into the slot did nothing to budge it.So yeah… I can’t really comment on the electronic features of the toy, but I will say that our son still enjoyed the non-electronic aspects of it (squeaking, etc). The suction cup held pretty well to a flat/smooth surface, but struggles to stay in place sometimes if the surface has even the slightest grain/texture to it. So double-check your high chair’s surface first. If this toy had functioned as planned, I have no doubt that it would be worth the asking price. My struggle with the battery compartment appears to be less common overall, so hopefully this is just an isolated defect with my item. Otherwise, this seems to be a solid toy that any toddler would enjoy.
A must to get for your children
I ordered this toy as a gift for my nephew. I liked the cute duck design and that it seemed like a versatile toy. My nephew (3 years old) and his little sister (6 months) really love this toy. He carries it with him all around the house and he likes to dance to its catchy tunes. The duckâs neck stretches and makes a funny noise when you play it. Itâs well-made, sturdy, has vibrant colors, it has many textures and itâs well thought to help develop fine motor skills. The suction cup does its job, when itâs attached to the tablet on the highchair, it stays in place. Itâs a great distraction while the kids are eating, it also motivates the older one to sit at the table since he gets to eat with his friend the duck. This duck toy needs battery to make the sounds and play the multiple songs. The batteries were easy to put in. They werenât included, so you will need two AAA batteries.I would recommend, itâs worth the price and this toy will be a win for sure!
Meal time just got louder but maybe easier
Sometimes mealtime can be a real bummer if baby is fussing and doesn’t really feel like sitting politely. This toy may be the answer. It’s definitely a great distraction and will keep baby entertained and willingly strapped in for just that much longer – maybe long enough to get in those last few bites! It’s colourful and wiggly and even sings, but it’s also small enough to not be a huge hurdle during feeding either.
Cheap
Waste of money. The suction part isnât good. Itâs cheaply made. My 11 month old has no interest in the toy at all either. The voice on it is annoying and the music is odd. Return window closed as I bought it before Christmas as a Christmas gift.
