A great size for purées and really easy to slide out once frozen!

Pricey for what it is but really nicely made.
The silicone material this is made of is nick and thick, and clearly a nicer grade of silicone than many of these similar molds are made of. It keeps it’s shape well enough that it can be handled with one hand without flopping around too much and spilling. The lid (also silicone) is actually surprisingly very effective at not leaking. When tested with water leaking some of the cells empty and others filled with water (worst case scenario), I was kind of shocked to see that turning it upside down it didn’t readily leak water out… the water did migrate between the cells inside but surprisingly didn’t leak out of the container itself which I fully expected it to because it’s a floppy silicone lid on a floppy silicone container. A few small tabs hold the lid in place better than I expected they would.It’s absolutely pricey all things considered, but it’s really well made out of good materials and with a thoughtful design. I expect this container/tray to pretty much last forever and would also continue to be useful for things like freezing herb cubes etc.

Strange Residues when ice melts
I really wanted to try these silicone ice mold in premium silicone. The company has a good customer service and seems serious. But unfortunately, even after washing the tray many times, in the dishwasher and with a handbrush, pod by pod, i still have residues coming from the ice water when melting in the water. I also just use it for ice water “cubes” and i use a Brita filter so the water has no particules in it. The company said to me that this can be a chemical reaction, that particules are forming in the freezing/defrozing process of the water but i doubt that these particules just appear like that, because of a freezing process. I wish a chemist could confirm this. But for now, i do not trust this tray because i suspect that the silicone release particules.Other than that concern, i find the ice water pieces hard to remove from the pods. Maybe if you put food in it, it is less harder than ice water but i dont recommend this tray for ice water “cubes”. The size of the tray is compact, enough solid to stack, and the cover does the job.If someone else notice the releasing of particules when ice water pieces is melting, please leave a review about it. I wish all the customers here would make a test with ice water and observe if they have particules coming from the ice pieces…

Excellent quality silicon
This makes preparing purees easily, and once frozen, pop them out into a airtight bag for storage and its as simple as defrosting before serving. This works really well, and the quality of the silicon is excellent. Even small touches like the lid having clips to keep the lid sturdy is useful to have, and designed by smart people!I do wish they came in a two pack though. One is fine but batching is where its at, saves so much time.
