Very cute toy
This toy is a joy and a curse.It’s a lot of fun to have the chipmunk voice repeat things but it can get on your nerves after a while. There’s a point you may want to hit the power switch and tell the kids the battery needs to be recharged.But it is fun to say ‘what-ever’ amongst other things and have it repeated at a much higher pitch.The variety of songs is quite extensive. And the lights and dancing are fun.The volume is a single button that drops the volume and then loops up to full again. It’s simple but it works well compared to having to search around for separate volume up and down buttons.We used it at a family gathering and all the adults had a ball with it.The rechargeable battery via USB cable is so much better than a toy that requires disposable batteries. It’s too bad it doesn’t use a standard USB C cable rather than the USB A to barrel connector so you do have to be careful to not lose track of it. Also, it would be nice to have the connection on the side rather than on the bottom.
Super fun and adorable!
This cactus is loads of fun and so cute. Very easy to use, even my 4yo figured it out on his own. The music mode has several different nursery rhymes that it plays while the cactus dances around to it. When you press and hold the mic, it lets you record a message, then you press the mic to play the msg back to you. When it is not playing nursery rhymes or the mic recording, you can talk to it and it will repeat back what you said in a silly voice. This has kept my whole family entertained for hours.A couple things would improve this toy. The battery life is not super long – I had hoped it would at least last a day before requiring charging and at the rate that it is used in our house, we need to charge it 2-3 times per day. Another thing that is the charging port is on the bottom of the toy, so you can’t keep it standing while it’s charging. Lastly, the other thing that could use improvement would be the stickers used to identify volume, music or recording doesn’t seem like it will hold up for a long time. They seem to be the sort that you could peel off, so I doubt that the stickers will last.Overall though, the cons are pretty minor and the benefits outweigh it.
So CUTE
This toy is very cute and fun. It makes everyone smile, young or old. The cactus shakes and shimmies to songs. It can also record your voice. It lights up and is adorable. The song choices are not the best, but it is still a great toy. Kids will love it and find it very entertaining. It’s a cute novelty item.
Might have to get one for myself!
I got this for my friend’s toddler. Of course, I had to try it out before gifting it, esp. so that it was fully charged and can be used right away.OMG, this toy is HILARIOUS and was entertaining to me, a full grown adult! I definitely brought a smile to my face, and I can’t wait to see how the little guy reacts to it! And their dog will probably go nuts too!The songs are all happy children’s songs (I don’t know all of them; I cycled through several of them). The feature I like best is the voice repeating feature and it distorts your voice to a higher pitch. Very funny and fun! The dancing cactus is fun to watch, and I’m kind of sad that I’ll be giving it away!! I may have to get one for myself.The only downside is that it’s got a unique charger, and not USB-C. And it takes a while to charge.Price at time of order was $29.98 CAD. I read another review posted just last week where the price was $10 cheaper. I don’t know if the price went up that much that quickly or it was a sale, but even at $30, I think it’s worth it!
Good toy, poor quality
The toy itself helped my kid stay entertained for tummy time but quality not the best. Variety of songs available. Can change the volume. The sticker for the buttons are coming off. Not sure if they are suppose to be temporarily there to help locate the buttons or if its permanent. Toy still works when stickers are off.Update: after a week, toy stopped working/turning on.
A Thorny Good Laugh
We were so impressed with this Rechargeable Talking Cactus Toy that we got one for each of our grandchildren! It’s the perfect blend of fun and educational. The kids love the cute design, the funny sounds, and the interactive features. The adjustable volume is a great touch, making it suitable for all ages.
Great entertaining toy
I don’t know what it is about these talking cactuses but kids sure love them – from age 1-4 (I haven’t tested any older), kids are captivated by this thing!I like that this one is rechargeable rather than batteries – the fewer battery powered toys, the better in my opinion! This guy dances, lights up and repeats back to you about 10-15 seconds of what you say. It’s really quite entertaining. My son will get in arguing matches with it. He also plays songs but the repeating back is by far the most fun part. Believe me, any young kid will love this toy – they’ve been around for awhile now but they are still super popular. Highly recommend as a birthday present or a Christmas present that everyone (except parents haha) will love.
